I have a Audi A3 and was just woundering if people put wider tyres on the back and thinner on the front?? i.e 225/40/18 on the front and 235/40/18 on the back?? would this help handling?

Most guys are running the same front and back....

I think on RWD cars such as mercs, M3s etc, the rear tyres are a lot wider as they;re what drive the car forward.

I doubt it would do anything on the A3 TBH.

Just go for good tyres (I got Conti Sport Contact 3 - Best tyres i've had!) and with the right tyre pressures, you should be able to minimise that oversteer you seem to get free with front wheel cars :D

Every one talks about how their car behaves and handles, but out of curiousity where do you guys try it ? Id love to slide my car .... can't think of any place besides the shops car parks but dont want to look like a chav :busted_cop:

Sorry to be off topic too

On tight bends, roundabouts, wherever you can!

Try a trackday or if your local enough, the snake pass (A57) .. brilliant road for driving!
