I have a Audi A3 and was just woundering if people put wider tyres on the back and thinner on the front?? i.e 225/40/18 on the front and 235/40/18 on the back?? would this help handling?

Most guys are running the same front and back....
I think on RWD cars such as mercs, M3s etc, the rear tyres are a lot wider as they;re what drive the car forward.
I doubt it would do anything on the A3 TBH.
Just go for good tyres (I got Conti Sport Contact 3 - Best tyres i've had!) and with the right tyre pressures, you should be able to minimise that oversteer you seem to get free with front wheel cars

Every one talks about how their car behaves and handles, but out of curiousity where do you guys try it ? Id love to slide my car .... can't think of any place besides the shops car parks but dont want to look like a chav :busted_cop:

Try a trackday or if your local enough, the snake pass (A57) .. brilliant road for driving!
