Revo + Milltek + Forge = RS3

Had mine down to AMD today.

Thanks to Shaun and his team for 310bhp and 360lbs of torque.

He reckoned after the car has adapted to the new exhaust there should be a bit more to come over the next few days.

In any case, this is how the car should have been...pulls like a train, more mpg if you don't use the power, and more power when you do.

360 torques !?!
That tops me - superb result mate !

For whatever reason the forum software isnt allowing me to post attachments so I can't post the RR results, but Shaun seemed well pleased with that.

There were a couple of problems initially when the exhaust was fitted, with the car only giving 266bhp,and he thought that was down to the ECU resetting itself to the defaults after the new exhaust,as we hadnt done a RR run with the stock system first.

Anyway, after that, the results were as above, and it does feel pretty strong on the road.....to be honest I'm not too rabid about top-end power, but I do want good torque.

My old Sierra had about 420-440bhp,but with 2.5 bar it had a huge amount of midrange torque and was faster on the road than some with more power....that's what I'd like from this.

BTW...I gave Shaun your regards.....really nice bunch of guys who obviously enjoy their work!

Definitely!

It's always felt like a car that could easily do with another 100bhp,and this is about halfway there(not that I'll go the whole hog) without destroying the car completely.

It's quite fast, hopefully reliable, and hasn't cost me all of my limbs so far.

It's also much more driveable than before with the extra torque.

Thanks again to everyone here for advice.

Right I'm fed up with all these fast S3s. Can someone recommend someone in the Bedford area who can fit me all the gear so I can join the club?!

You could try ringing Abt UK on 01753 607640 .....when I was looking for somewhere to have mine done they said they have a dealer in the Milton Keynes area.

May at least be worth a call.

Alex - with the exhaust now on I'd certainly suggest a Forge intake to go with it. Not stupidly expensive (£270 ish), you can fit them yourself, give at least an extra 10bhp and can be removed before any trips to the dealer if necessary. I bet your 310bhp would rise to a noticeably more freed up 325bhp with all that cold air coming in. You could then play around with your Revo settings (assuming you got the Select+ switch) to get the most out of the combination.

Thanks Iggu.....I'm still thinking about that, and it's really the extra induction noise I don't want.

Shaun said I should bring the car back for another RR run in a couple of weeks and see how it's adapted to the map and exhaust,as he felt the lowish initial power was due the to ECU resetting itself to it's defaults as he didnt do an RR test before fitting the Milltek.

What was really good to see was the torque, and I'd rather have a lot of midrange than all at the top end.

Definitely - bhp is not the goal at all and with 360 lb/ft there must be a king-sized shove in the back already. If you're ever in the NW let me know and you can listen to my intake - bet you won't notice anything. When its very cold outside you can hear a faint whistle (rather than a K&N style whoosh) but once you've got going its really undetectable. Q-car has always been my style.

Thank you very much!....if and when I'm up there I'll definitely try.

The difference was more than I'd expected, and I think more than Shaun had expected on the torque front.

Thanks Carl and Alex also. The TT shop is closest to me, or would there be any benefit in coming to you direct?

entierly up to you! TTS will be able to supply you with any hardware that you want as we're merly manufacture the software and switches at our HQ :)

S3 Big Andy has had superchips and is now using our software that i put on for him at TTS (as they're one of our dealers) so i'm sure he'll be able to tell you the difference!!

If you can get this done locally,I'd certainly recommend the Revo....I've only had mine for a couple of days but still have a big grin on my face.

The car is MUCH more fun to drive.

As you know from this thread Staz I went from SuperChips to Revo. Its a different level. And the Select+ is worth having too - especially as you already have Vagcom so can do datalogging. Endless fun.

I would just like to thank Andy, met up with him today and went out in his RS3!!! My first drive in a new S3 and certainly a 340bhp one! Drives extremely well, pulls like a train! Great fun and well worth it for all S3 owners! Thanks Andy

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll defo pay them a visit and see how it goes. The fact that you all comment about it must mean there's a big difference.

Lots of food for thought!

Any time mate - Staz i you're in the North over Xmas (you sometimes are I think) you're welcome to "try before you buy" and take my motor for a spin. Nathan and me got a nice circuit of M60 slip roads worked out today !
