So guys....considering the current market, what do you think is a realistic price for private sale??

Oct 2006/ 56 plate
A3 S-line Sportback 2.0 TDI 170PD DPF
20,000 miles
FASH-Just had first Service

Standard car,18" wheels, Half leather interior etc....... plus,

Pearlescent Avus silver Paint
Multi-function steering wheel
Aluminium Roof Rails

Also....Where do you recon the best places are to advertise it privately at the moment?

Hi PiloTT

Private sales i've been 56plates going on auto trader, ebay, piston heads at about £13k-£15.5k due to the car being a s-line and low miles and 170 model and then the extras.
but also have seen some go for lower prices.
Cousin has a 55plate 2.0tdi s-line 140 two owners from new 23,500 miles
Cardiff Audi said trade for his was £13k
Fancy a change do you?

bewteen £13.5k and £16k (14,500+ seem to be dealers and Audi)

I'd go for £14.500k and accept around £14k but for a quick sale, you may need to as cheap as this:

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...CARS&make=&model=&min_pr=&max_pr=&max_mileage=

Best places to sell are pstonheads (its free) and autotrader (3week on net and book deal is good) but id defo wait till after new year as everyones xmas planning !

No I dont fancy a change! i think its great but as its the wifes car, she says she cant park it!!!.....So she wants a golf Mk5 (unfortunatley) but I guess I will take a hit on the A3. Paid £15k only 10 weeks ago(plus £400 for service and tyres). Two Vw dealers offered PX price, one offered £11,500 the other £11,000.....Which I think is taking the pi55 really. Was hoping I might get £14.5 privatley??

You might get lucky but I'd imagine you'll have to expect a bit lower privately, given the time of year and current economic climate.

PX prices in my previous experience tend to take the p1ss a bit, can imagine a bit more at the mo- but it's your overall cost to change the car that's important, not the part ex.

Cheaper to teach the wife to park, or part ex her :eyebrows:

Could get £14.5k if you sell private and willing to wait abit if your not in a rush?
What the lowest you would take? Say it was £13k or £13.5 put it up as £14.5 or £15k because people will always try and get the price down.
And they will be happy if they got it down to £13.5k but then you also got hte price you wanted. I wanted £2,500 for my 52 plate corsa put it up as £3,250 all the offers i had were between £2,250-£2,500 in the end sold it for £2,500 and the guy was happy enough as he thought he knocked me down when it was the price i actually waited. Quite a few people do it.

Lmao teach the wife to park or part ex her!

Ashley

Cant say that it has'nt crossed my mind!:yahoo:

Coming from a MkV golf to an A3 I can say that the A3 is easier to park, the steering is lighter and there isn't as much of a blind spot on the C pillar

I have the same car and paid £16k a few months ago ...Gulp! anyway i have the factory fitted revers sensors and they are brilliant. why dont you get them fitted? It cant cost as much as you would loose.

Dont talk to me about Italian women....... An italian friend of mine took a phone call while she was doing about 180kph on the Autostada near Genoa.I watched in horror as she held the phone to her ear with her shoulder, took booth hands off the wheel to gesture (in true italian fasion!) while steering with her knees!:scared2:

Anyway back to the car..... its a manual. Only options are, metallic, Aluminium roof rails and MFSW.
