I use that road probably less than once a month, but I used it over the summer when the roadworks and speed reduction signs were being put in place so was aware of the change.

Agree having the 40 sign before the roundabout is crazy. Coming the other way from the A61 roundabout has been 40 for a stretch then up to NSL, the NSL has now been reduced to 40.

I'm sure I read the stretch between Lawnswood and Sainsbury's Moortown is to be reduced to 50 as some point.

Check the TRO to see when the new limit actually came into force,

Just a point for the prosecution. There isn't a crash barrier on that part of the ringroad, so I think looking at the flowers that appear regularly at the side of the road they must have been a few accidents.

They also seem to be putting in some pedestrian lights half way along.

If it makes you feel any better I was speeding a little there a few weeks ago and was given a 'stare' by a parked police car at the road that joins before the roundabout (as you are travelling clockwise). I guess he was looking for people doing more than the 50 I was doing fortunately for me.

Deffo looks like you ahve a case to dispute this one.
There is a legal forum over on tt-talk.com and there is someone that really knows there stuff in there. Might be worth expalining your predicament and see what he advises.

Yeah its silly. If you get banned your getting back your licence clean so why not just drive while banned and take the risk... worst case scenario is you get your licence back with 6 points if youre caught lol

Thats amazing that advice that Andymac found, but basically wrong information on the website. If you get caught driving disqualified then you can expect at least a lengthier ban and also quite possibly a prison sentence if you keep offending. Generally if you breach any requirement set by a court ranging from a driving ban to bail conditions they will come down pretty hard on you.

Im not sure if this is the same part of the ring road but i done a simlar thing on the ringroad coming from pudsey doing about 65, you hit the 2+ lane so your concentrating on changing lanes so you dont go into it then i saw a small repeater sign and though ***** when did that change to 40... i still find that road a nightmare for knowing the limit. 60 - 40 - 30 - 60 - 40 etc etc

On a side note has anyone else noticed how many fking cameras there are on the leeds bradford road... lol

good luck, they throw cases out of court all the time so this one may be worth fighting

Agree there, I used to travel those roads often with work an I never knew what speed to go. Luckily for me, I used to use slow driving as a way to avoid working...... hehe.
