How to get wires from the engine bay to the cabin? A4 B7

Has anyone managed to find a route for an extra wire to go between the engine bay and the cabin?

I can't seem to find an obvious route - any advice will be greatly appreciated.

well try looking under the wiper plastic panel where the battery is(i think on b7 as my b6 s4 was) might be a rubber grommet there with spare holes to break that you could go through, the 8P has them behind the battery that comes in the cabin behind the glovebox by the heater module, make sure you seal up with sealant to stop any condensation build up.

The other option is to go via the ECU cover, there's usually a spare grommet on the big rubber boot going into the ECU, and then this drops down into the footwell.

How do you remove the ECU cover? I guess this is the bix box on the right hand site under the wiper blades?

I have a crack in mine and i want to change it, but i cant seem to get the old one off.. I cant get to all the torx bits

Yeah - I've never got past the back left one either.......

I am going to have a go tomorrow as I have cracked mine through messing about with it, and i need to get it back fixed so its water tight...

Found a guide on the net, and app you need to remove the wiper, and then you can access all the bolts..

Hmmmm - that would make sense!

I've also been advised that there are a couple of rubber grommets adjacent to the battery that pass through the fire wall behind the glove box - might give them a go instead.
