S3 - after 5 months waiting

hey guys
after waiting for 5 months i get a call this morning
to say my car is @ the stealers.
i haven't been there yet but this is the pic that was sent to
me by the salesman.
decent pics to follow after i fetch her:)

Why does it look to be sitting so high at the front?
Do they do something with the suspension, for delivery purposes?
 
I think they are on some kind of transit spacer, probably so that they don't scrape when they load and unload them on the transporters.

Got some nice blue plastic bits on it too.

They have delivery blocks in the springs - think it's to make sure they don't catch the nose when coming on and off transporters/trains/ferries etc.
Some dealers forget to remove them and complain about the firm ride etc.....

Quite like the yellow actually, not what I'd put my money on, but looks nice.
 
nice one, i think the facelift is a grower. the more i see of them the more i appreciate the differences which are actually quite subtle (apart from the mirrors!).

i personally didnt order a flying banana, but each to their own!

I saw my facelift at the stealers yesterday and it looked fantastic.

I am due to take delivery on Thursday but am waiting for the stealer to confirm if I can collect on monday and get a lower rate of VAT on it. might save me enough for £500 of V Power :yes:

there is a thread on moneysaving expert about it I am keeping an eye on.

no word from the stealers yet, but assuming they are just passing on the VAT from me at 15% it shouldnt make a difference to them :)

i just got back from the lionel ritchie concert here in
durban, all i can say is oh what a feeling:)

haha, no.

it was either yellow or blue and my sister drives a blue s3.
so i was limited.
i'm supposed to be taking delivery on wednesday afternoon
but i'll have to see how my day is first..

its just in time for a 1200km road trip i have planned, so i'll get
to enjoy the full experience on the first few days. software will be loaded before i leave. FRC is the route i haven chosen.

she's set to have h&r springs fitted on saturday so i'll get some before and
after pics too.
when i get back home she's set for a down pipe and exhaust system, 76mm front to back, forge dv and forge cai (awaiting arrival) and then i'll slap on the bbs ch's.

The S3 seems to get toned down more and more with every incarnation, and having seen a couple at the dealers, the wing mirrors are laughably huge.

Still, the performance from these things is impressive.
 
Well duh. I mean you know GOOD ones with a half decent camera in some sort of daylight.
 
and if you get a red one the foam is yellow and the bloke cleaning it has a blue tie:)

ok guys
due to a stuff up by the bank i only fetched my car late on friday.
so i have had to delay my trip and leave this thursday.

this is the only picture i have for now, will post more
when i get home (car is dirty by the way).

Looks so nice. Hope you really enjoy. Probably the best S3 I have seen. Even better than my orange one I had previously.

i hardly drove it much, but the little i have its amazing.
lots better than the golf 5 gti i used to own.

the tints are 35%.
