I want to drop my SE's ride height to that of an s-line. Is it just a case of getting a set of sline springs ?

I want to use oem parts if poss....

The shocks are probably different too on an S-Line compared to an SE, certainly are on the B5 anyway.

You'd be better looking at some eibach springs imo, excellent quality and probably quite a bit cheaper than the OEM parts.

Look at replacing the shocks too though, not sure on the costs, but my bro baught a set of bilsteins for his S4 a few months back from Siena and the price was pretty good compared with the prices of the OE audi parts.

Ah but I only want to drop the height. If I'm going for eibach springs it would be the same as going for oem springs in terms of what I have to buy ? If I'm dropping the height I should need shocks as well shoud I ?

I doubt the OEM non-sport dampers would work well with shorter, stiffer springs.

You'll most likely end up with a very choppy ride, not good!

From experience you will need to change the shocks otherwise you will get a real bad bouncy ride

auroan how have you got on with this?

I made the big bistake of parking next to a sline and it made mine look really high...

I got a special price for the springs which I can't divulge (but a lot better than a set of eibachs).... it's a 30mm drop all round.

Fitting is £167.50 + VAT and that includes the geo set up and adjust afterwards

Pics will be a defo.

What's the big secret dread?

Forums like this are more like a community, we thrive on sharing information for the good of all.

Personally, I'd have just kept the whole lot secret, rather than drop a "teaser".

But, I guess you have your reasons.

Well got the motor dropped yesterday. Must say it rides quite nice. Actually feels like an improvement over my SE springs. No wollowyness or "bumpy" ride like some people seem to mention.

Don't think Awesome will be quoting me the same again for the work though.... Took them a bit (lot) longer than what they quoted but still charged me the quoted price... So a BIG thumbs up to them for that !!!!!

And even though SWMBO came with me to the Trafford Centre I didn't manage to spend to much there as well. YEY !!!!

I have a before pic.... just need to wait for the rain to stop so I can get an after pic.
