I'm toying with the idea of a new A4 Avant S-line, or a 3-series touring.
Much as I love my Alpina, I can't get our new daughter's pram in the boot.
So an estate beckons.

Yes its the B7. Looks sweet in Lava Grey but I guess I'm biased.

I'm trying to get an A4 Avant right now.
Much as I love my Alpina, a saloon is hopeless for family life.
When I ordered it, we didn't expect to be having any more additions!
I can't get a pram in the boot etc.
There are some cracking lease deals on A4 avants at the moment too.
£130 per month cheaper than my D3.

Its a nice shape too. Its not going to drive aswell as your Alpina but guess you have to make these sacrifices sometimes!

What engine are you looking at 140 0r 170? The new 140 CR is very quiet and refined. I guess the 170 CR will be aswell

Yeah, performance is very firmly taking a back seat to practicality.
I don't mind at all though.
It would be the 143 CR engine, to keep costs and BIK tax down.
If I find it lacking, I could always chip it.

Are you able to answer the question I posed in my other thread?
Does it have a spare (spacesaver maybe?), or a mousse and compressor?

If you look on the audi site at the A4 Avant spec it says spacesaving spare wheel

Mine has a spacesaver, but it was still hard to find. I lifted the carpet and only found an indent where I thought it should be. Undo the big plastic bolt in the center and the cover lifts off.
The cover is a nice fit though, you can't see the join:icon_thumright:

did you buy the ipod kit? i've just bought an 08 A4 avant, no ipod kit, they want £199 to fit one and then it wont charge my iphone. will buy one of those radio transmitters for it or just use the SD card slots

seems that theyve dropped the audi interface...it was still available when i ordered mine in february
