A favour please from someone with factory fitted RNS-E

Stu, do you have access the service docs on erwin ? I have a copy for my B7 A4... and from what I understand the setup in the A3 isn't much different to the A4, so I might be able to find the combination needed ?

Oh trust me stu has got many manuals, lol

Another set of eyes wouldn't hurt Danny.

Any more developments on this topic? Been watching with interest as the fault code annoys me like hell. Retro fitted my sat nav and would love to get rid of it.

Stu, just a thought and probably won't get help any more than what's been established already, but I've retro fitted sat nav to both of my last A3's and was wondering if you could compare the two.

My 2004 3.2 chassis no. WAUZZZ8PX5A074320 didn't have the fault code whilst my 2007 S3 chassis no. WAUZZZ8P87A226615 does. It would be interesting to see what was fitted from standard to see what the differences are.

Cheers

From what i've read, the older A3's have a different antenna system which is the correct system for the RNS-E. The antenna changed when Audi started fitting the Concert/Symphony II+ head units. If you spec the RNS-E from factory then your car will get the older antenna system.

Again not overly conclusive.

WAUZZZ8PX5A074320 has -

8P4 835 503 E Roof Antenna
8P3 035 225 D Left Lower Amplifier
8P4 035 225 B Left Upper Amplifier

WAUZZZ8P87A226615 has -

8P4 835 503 L Roof Antenna
8P3 035 225 D Left Lower Amplifier
8P4 035 225 B/C Left Upper Amplifier (Both listed as suitable)

Again not overly conclusive.

Oh ******, thought it might reveal something. Looks like we'll have to wait until gr1zly fits his part to see if it works.

Cheers Stu
