Vag Tacho Key Programming

Hi all ,

I have read that you can get the skc code and program your key with this software and lead . Can anyone tell me the best process for this ?

Also i have heard about the immo flashing after this is done is there anyway to avoid this ?
 
Yeah skc's can be retrieved by key pro's which I personally am weary of, but as long as you enter in vagcom all the correct info then you shouldnt have any issues, any links to the issues you've read somewhere?
 
I beleve it can read the SKC. However there doesnt seem to be much info about. There are cables on ebay but ive never got them to work so gave up. Ive also tried vag commander but never got it to connect. I will only buy another cable of ebay if they can show me it working first

immo light flashing means that the immo is kicking in as the key is not paired to the immobiliser. Ive coded keys to my car with vag com and my SKC (read by a garage in leeds) and never had any problems with the immo light flashing.

Im not going to read through those threads fully but one of the problems i saw on there was the immo light staying on after programming.

I had this problem but after an hour or 2 it went out.

If it flashes it means the key is not recognised by the immo. So either did not code properly or teh transponder in the key is duff.

I wouldnt worry if oyu get your SKC its hard to mess up as it wont let you login with the incorrect SKC. But dont keep trying as it will lock you out iirc approx 3 times and the lockout time increases each incorrect attempt. Just dont keep trying if it doesnt work.

but let us know how you get on with tacho if you get a copy

Aye what im really interested in is vag commander as apparently works on all can cars too

As i believe vag tacho is k-line only
 
if i can get one for a good price ill give it a go .

And if anyone needs one programming give me a shout

Yes i will do ,

but if anyone wants one coded for free just come along as i can do it . It works a treat as my mates has done 4 cars now with no problems .

What are you going to go for tacho or commander?
 
Actually i think ive just realised. I think in the past ive bought "Vag - Can commander, Which wont work on my 8L. Doh. "VAG Can+K commander" will work on old and new cars. Have i got this right?

Think i will get a copy of vag tacho then

Argh i need someones 8p to test my vag-Can commander. Anyone in leeds want me to give it a go?

I have heard good thing about the vag tacho and not much about the commander so i think its better to go for the tacho :)

Ive jumped in and bought a tacho cable lol.

I have vag can commander and if anyone is in leeds/bradford with a can car ie 8p and will let me test it please? i can try to read your skc for ya

got mine from "easybid2000" mainly because of their good ratings for the tacho.

Im not going to do anything in particular as i already have my skc, just if it works it will be a very good tool to have to read skc's for friends and possibly put in new/used clusters in the future, change mileage etc

If it allows reading and writing of the eeprom does this not mean you can remap yourself if you can get hold of a good map dump?

I dont think you can remap your car with it !

Plus i wouldnt bother get it done by the pro's makes so much difference i had 48hrs worth of remapping work done for me the guys that did mine are top blokes .

well it can change other things i only need it for that anyone need key's coding ill do for a few beers lol
 
Right ,

it can change milage
also read the code for key then code the key so no use for vag-com this is very easy as long as you follow the simple guide .

Cheers. wouldnt have any use for the mileage but could be good if getting replacement used clocks.

Would probably use vag-com to code keys as i trust it more, but definatly good for reading skc.

Will probably get my copy tomorow or early next week so will have a play then
 
Right if anyone needs any keys coding for there audi 8L or vw pm me i can do for £10 quid or putting the bleep on and anti jacking .
