Don't know it, but it certainly seems like a good price for the spec. If you call the guy you might want to know if it has H&R coilovers or just H&R springs, although both come very highly recommended.

You might be able to knock a bit off the price as the backbox seems to be touching the bumper valance and could melt it (like mine did!). Certainly sounds like it's had all of the common replacement parts done and it's been well looked after.

when i was looking for an S4 (late august) this one was for sale from a dealer on pistonheads, went away for about 2weeks then poped back up with a new side on picture, and new wheels, the other 2 pics are from the orig ad. so i dont know if the guy has bought it then found something serious wrong with it, or just cant afford to run it or something.

he bought it when it was advertised at 6k, then it went back up with this pauls contact number with an extra 1000quid on the price (the wheels maybe?) and has slowly came down in price since

Strangly I bought a set of wheels off a guy yesterday who used to own this car a little while back! He said it was a nice car but he did mention that when the next owner sold it on the rear diff was ********, so this maybe still the case. A big old concidence me talking about this very car a day ago, it got mentioned as it's the same spec as mine, he knew it cos of the number plate, so maybe well worth looking into this if you're interested.

I was looking at this car too, looks and sounds sweet but something fishy going on there, hes bunged up 2 more ads on PH each with the different wheels. If anyone is near it would be good to have a sqint and report back

it does look a nice car - the alacantra is an acquired taste. for diff I would be inclined to give your favored specialist a buzz for a quote / idea of the work

If it's been in to see Grizz (Unit20), then you might as well give him a ring and see if he has any views on it. I've been taking my S4 to him since owning it.

agree give unit20 a ring they could give you an idea of cost for a diff replacement or fix

grizz may also remember the car, he does also offer inspections if you want to have that done on the car as a condition of purchase if you go for it - good idea in my eyes for any S4

last time i spoke to star (many years ago now mind you) was about chipping my dads old 1.8T A4 and they basically said "F-Off we only do VW's"

Also called them a few years later while trying to find a venue to host a rolling road day, and was met with the same crap. (It was a vauxhall rolling road day, fair enough, but its still paying customers and free advertising) Dastek just down the coast from them got the business in the end on that occasion
