anyone running wheel spacers? what kind and size?

Loads of people and loads of posts on this one available via the search function.

Norm for the S3 is usually 10mm front and 15mm rear.

Damian @ DPM

Would this cause any problems when lowering i.e. tyre scrubbing? and whats the recommended lowering height with these spacers or in general?

thanks

if you stick to a 25-30mm drop you shouldnt have any problems

Ah cool, thanks pal - was thinking of Eibach springs but yet to decide on shocks...
most go for the h+r springs and billy shocks i have the h+r springs and roll bars and there great, also depends on the off set of the wheels more than anything, i have 8.5 * 18's with a 35mm offset with 25mm rears and 10m front spacers and the wheels now fill the arches all the way

oh and it is an s3??? as a3 has not got wide arches

hes running a 2000 plate s3

Thanks guys, yes Kev I have an S3 if you were asking me. I'm thinking at the moment of keeping the standard avus wheels and spending money on suspension, arb kit, good tyres, then brakes etc.
Also thinking of coolant and boost pipes replacement i.e. Samco's, once the gauges are fitted too i'll be off to Nurburgring again in April/May so i want all this done before i go.
Then in the summer i'll look towards the engine, air intake, remap and intercooler before i plan to go to Nurburgring again in August/September.
Would be cool to see the diffence in lap times etc.
My bro is gunna do similar mods to his TT and we'll see how both cars compare on the track...

Cant wait for next year!

does your tyre choice affect the rear scrubbing or not scrubbing?
what profile/width you running?

im useing 225 40 18 toyos, dont think tyre choice makes any difference if you stick with the correct profile

cheers, I have decided to change offset instead of using the spacers.
