Hey

So for starters what did everyone think!?? I enjoyed it, found it a hell of a lot more interesting than GTI International earlier this year.. (weather helped im out with that im sure!)

Was good to meet up with most of the guys who turned up on the day, thought that the ASN stand looked good, we probably had one of the best turn outs of the day!

Hope everyone enjoyed the track time, I would have liked to take mine round for a couple of laps but 103.6Db and a look of horror from the noise tester put an end to that lol..

Heres a few pics of some of the cars on the stand, sorry I didnt manage to get some more, sure lots of you guys got some so feel free to add them to this thread:)

So I also managed to get my new H&R coils on in time for the show, they are still settling down, I noticed that my car looked lower at the end of the day than it did at the start!! Should be fully settled in a week or so..

Heres a few pics with the new coils!!

Also a big thanks to Lee for sorting out the Coming/Leaving home lights on my car, love this little mod.. :):)

So all in all I thought the day was a success, look forward to some future events! (maybes a little closer to home next time please)

Thanks

Jonny

Jonny, it was a great day out, nice to meet some of they names from the site at last, would have loved to follow you around the track!!

Oh and thanks for talking me into a new induction kit! now where's my cash card??

Although i never made it over to the ASN stand, i was actually parked in the middle bit with the S2 forum lot as a mate got me a pass. I spent most of the morning helping said mate prep his car for the concours competition then the afternoon deciding to get revo'd.

Now that was a nice thing to come home with.

Next year i'm going to come down with ASN and going to enter the concours competition. I might even manage a track session.

Alex.. Thanks for posting up them pics, car looks really nice on the tarmac, really pleased with how its sat now!! Dropped even more when I looked at home tonight!!

Khufu.. Found out at the services on the way home just how low it is, middle of the car touched on a very averagely sized speed bump, had to tackle the next one at 1mph on a huge angle ala Cooper S lol..

Heres my mini for reference!!

LOL, not long back from the IOM and went round a few hairpins that we/I had to avoid the apex as it would have ground out the side sill of a landrover is was that sharp and steep LOL

Your cars looking great now Jonny, shame you couldn't get it on the track

Jonny - your car (and Jamie's) were receiving a lot of praise on the captain's table last night - Mr Regal was sitting at the editor of Audi Driver Magazine's table (and I'm not sure how we ended up there, but we were too) - and there was plenty of disussion on your motor :)

Nice pics mate  Glad you enjoyed the day, we'll have to get the noise tester to look the other way next year!

Regards,

Rob.

Ah cool, would be nice to have a feature made on the car at some point! Had pretty much all of my cars in Mags at some point, S3 is one of the best I have had so would be cool!

Ah yes, well its more to do with my exhaust so maybes I should sort that out lol..

Thanks

Jonny

Ha ha ha, I'm betting the conversation realting to my car was something like "Did you see the 400bhp S3, it was parked between a blue one and black a one" lol! Nice of you to say mine was mentioned too though!

I'm surprised something hasn't been done on the S3 in Audi Driver mag already.
It's a great car - track action yesterday proves that - I was really impressed with it.

J

jonny - You'll have a PM in the not too distant...

jamie - OK, perhaps the talk about your car was more centered on its owner, but still, good things said :)

And on the issue of jonny's exhaust I think I've found the perfect way around it...

Next time we go, someone does the "woah look at that!" bit for the benefit of the sound-tester chap, pointing skywards. Then, a fearless and stealthy ASN'er sweeps in and while the aforementioned fellow isn't looking at his dB-meter, attaches the following (printed on some nice glossy paper with some pritt-stick on the back) perfectly in line with the left-most edge of the '1' on the 103.6dB...

Et voila! No problem, you'd be over 70dB inside the limit! :)

Regards,

Rob.

That's such a great idea!
Should have just sent Leon or Noels car through, got the db ok seal of approval and put it on Jonny's car..... at least he'd of got a lap before the stewards black flagged him!!!
ha ha ha

Ive just got back home after staying down in bath for a bit of pampering at the spa place :)

I had a great time chaps, nice to see you all again, and meet a few more ppl too BigAndy & Robin :)

Shame Jonny103 (yes thats your new name :) ) didnt get on track, would have turned a few heads for sure!

Same time next year guys! Unless we get that ring trip sorted before :)

Ali, give us the lowdown on the RS4 incident pleaaaaase!! :)

Orite guys,

Had a great time... Was my first Audi-Driver and i cant wait for next years one now:sly:
Weather couldn't have been any better... and there was us crossing our fingers and praying weather be good few days before the event. lol

Was nice to actually meet some of you guys... arrived late in the afternoon really wanted to meet all the attending members but time was short... Next year i'l be the first in!!!

Some of the metal there was mental!
And i got to see a few mods that i've always wanted to know more about and see. Example Jamie's H&R springs.

Was good to see you again Trouble (Leon).

Jonny was a shame you couldn't get on track... was really looking forward to that. :(

BIG thanks to Jojo and RobinA3 who organised it and made it happen for ASN.

Highlight of the event was the RS4 crash ... and unfortunatly it happened to a mate of mine.

Was very lucky he didn't hurt himself looking at the speed he hit the wall. Curtain airbags helped alot.

Hasn't had the best two weeks of his life... I definately cant say he's a shyt driver because he also drives a B5 RS4 480hp MTM one and has took it on many track days.
Couple of weeks back some polish dude came onto his side of the road and hit his one head on. Fortunately other guy had insurance.
Pure bad luck.

Got a few snaps... man it's such a nice car... WAS a nice car.

He's saying when he came into that bend his line was completely wrong because he just overtook a TT on the straight and came into that bend all wrong.

Just overtook the TT and backend slipping

Apart from all that had a great time... Some of the cars sounded soooo nice.. and loud.. cant imagine how louder Jonny's car is to them!

Jamie thanks mate.. I think you've cost me a set of H&R springs after seeing yours mate.

Cheers
Ali

was a lovely car, heard the guy laughing about it after, he looked so young to be driving that car, he definatly saw the funny side of it tho i heard him say!

i dont reckon he had track insurance either! i bet its a case of " i was run off the road into a ditch on my way castle combe":sob:

Hey Ali,

Was really good to meet you mate.

Glad I'm amking you part with your hard earned. The springs and ARB's made a great difference on track..... I'd seriously recommend the ARB's if you can stretch to it.... you won't be dissapointed.

I'm sorry about your mate - I wasa couple of cars behind with Leon in the car.... we were both gutted for him. Good of you to clarify a few points too.

catch up soon,

J

lol... Yeah :shutup2:

I've seen footage from inside the car... his brother was recording from mobile... But he's not releasing to general public i'm afraid. Is funny.. "oh"

He was ok... laughing and joking about his bad luck.

youve got two choices in that scenario, you either laugh or cry!

i know which i would have done in front of 1000's of people, " wow that was good, can we do it again":yahoo:

Ok.. hit me mate.. How much? :tapedshut:

Springs and ARBS...

Well, I got a special price on 1000 mile old set of springs and I think about 200 miles on the ARB's off Jonny lol - but I think the set full price would be £500.
It then cost about £240 to fit everything as the ARB's require the front sub frame to be dropped.

oemparts.co.uk are getting invloved with s3-talk.com and you may be able to get discount through them. Will ask for you.

Hope the other half is OK dude, and hopefully you can join us on the stand next year Wes.

Since the plates and Tax have been removed, I assume the roof has been bent .... so a bin job ...I suppose it is worth £20k scrap ??

Roof is ok... No bend in it surprisingly. The tyre wall absorbed alot of the impact... he was easily doing 50mph when he went into it.
Not a scrap job just yet.

200 mile drive back!!!!

Good to hear she's ok now mate. Worst thing you being so far away but glad you go there.

There is a video of the RS4 crash on youtube. I can't post the link as I can't access youtube from work, but it should come up with a search for 'audi coombe crash'.

Yeah just saw it... Its on this forum too.. YouTube links.

Can see where he tried to correct it but over corrected it....

200 mile drive back!!!!

Was a horrible drive back-She was in sainsbury`s (told her to go to tesco lol) and collapsed & fitted, I was pretty scared on the way home if I`m honest, in the process she has cut her face and broken a tooth, but the main thing is she is ok, she isnt quite seeing it like that though and was horrified when she first looked in the mirror, but it will heel & the tooth can be fixed. Was the first time anything like this has happened to her, so must of been horrible me not being there for her-I feel bad but I cant be there 24\7, although I will try harder now.Thanx for the wishes chaps:icon_thumright: Hope the Docs can find out why etc Have to go back in for more tests tomorrow-fingers crossed.:3sadwalk:

Jeez Wes, hope the missus is ok and on the mend and hope its nothing too serious.
