F1... Whos your money on this year?

Good drive from Alonso, a deserved win. I think Ferrari has possibly ruined Massa's chance of taking the title if he misses out by those points he lost today, he was easily the quickest guy out there bar none... saying that, I guess it's evens between Hamilton and Massa now, hope they make the most of the last 3 races to go! Not too sure what Kimi is playing at, losing the car so late on in the race, he should have just brought the car home for Ferrari to maintain their constructors championship lead!

not a bad race for once, I do like the night racing although if they dimmed the lights and made them have headlights it could be fun ! I agree Alonso was a desrved winner and i'm surprised hamilton didn't try and go for second for once he might be playing the points game. Rosberg had a fantastic drive but kimi .... what the hell is he playing at ? I bet Ferrari wish they hadn't signed him for another year !

Roll on the final 3 races its going to be fun!

couldnt agree more with what the commentators said, whoever makes the least mistakes will win the championship..... Lewis still has a lot of learning to do.....

I think massa was good and would have deserved the win, although he wasnt leaps and bounds the fastest.... think Kimi should be given that for those astounding laps he did in the first stint

Alonso did well with the strategy, but it was the strategy that won it for him...

Some could argue that it was divine intervention to redress the balance after the Spa fiasco.

I hope that the mechanic is OK and that the FIA ban the lights system, did I see correctly that they went back to the lollypop for later stops ?

As for Kimi and Kovi what is going on there ?

Good race and nice result for Alonso.

Whats our predictions for this one? This season has thrown up a few suprises so going by the last few races so it could be anyones race!! I didn't see the last race but I should be able to catch these next 3. Going to be a good end to the season. Ferrari have nothing to lose at this point so they should go for it. Kimi needs to find his mojo. If its wet, I can see Hamilton winning the race and the championship by China.

I'd like Hamilton to take the title as he is a brit, but he still has so much to learn and may just lose it again. I think Massa might just nick it, which isnt a bad thing hes done well all season. I love the way raikkonen has pressed the self destruct button! its a great expensive throw yer toys out the pram job!!!!

If Hamilton doesn't have a 10 point gap between him and Massa after this race(barring mechanical failure or penalties), then he doesn't deserve the title.

What a race!!! Do you think the pressure is getting to them?!

I think the pressure is getting to Hamilton, yes he can be quick but he doesn't drive like a champion, its not always about winning, he should have just let kimi go, massa was behind and thats all that mattered. Good result for Alonso again, it just goes to show why he is a double world champion.

great race by double world champion alonso. goes to show how much he`s developed that car that was crap last year. did anyone else see lewis`s face after they called him back from leaving the circuit? OMG that was a face of a spoilt bratt. i think it just goes to prove he hasnt got the dissaplin to be a world champion. sure he`s gonna win it this year but i seriously doubt he will next year. you have to remember he`s in alonso developed last years car.
btw, who`s going to silverstone next year on here? ive got my grandstand 3 day tickets booked. ive been the last 3 years now on the trot.

It was a great race & a well deserved win by Alonso, Hamilton did drive a stupid first corner though, I think the FIA got it wrong with the Massa v Bourdais though on lap 50 because no way was bourdais in the wrong there, & the penalty has conveinently given Massa another point thus reducing hamilton's lead to 5 points.

damn haven't seen that bit about massa & boudais, I agree though that was massa's fault

Rollox, I wanted to wait for the rerun before I got the result, I hope Hamilton hasn't blown it, I'll make my judgement after watching it....
He's trying to lose it isn't he?

Just watched the whole race, I'm at a loss though, the 2 driver's out on track fighting for the championship both drove crap! Do they actually WANT to win?

Just my point! Pressure is getting to them. Do you know who I think deserves the Championship this year? Kubica... Hes in a MUCH slower car than the top 2 and his still mathematically within a shot of the crown with 2 races to go. What do you recon the odds are?

Hi

I didn't see the race live (busy driving at Assen yesterday) but.....since when has overtaking been a Drive Through Penalty event? Agreed Hamilton did retake Raikonnen on the absolute limit (and he would have had to pit anyway because his tyres would have been down to the canvass) but for f@cks sake this is ****** motor racing not an FIA Tea Party. Get a grip or this sport is going to lose its balls!

Yes Hamilton is a little bit up himself but he's great to watch and he's the best British driver we have ever had.

Massa deserved a black flag not a drive through. Blatant T-boning of Hamilton. He had to drive with 4 wheels off the track to get him!

I think I will take 3 hours to calm down after watching those ITV internet highlighlights so thank you to ITV for making me look like an idiot in front of my staff!

Cheers Shaun.

You calmed down yet? Been 3 hours..

People on here know I like the red cars. Hamiltons move at the beginning didn't deserve to be a drive through. If it was, then half the field should have a drive through at the beginning of every race!

Massa's incident with Hamilton did deserve a drive through. Was just reckless driving. Black flag would have been too harsh because things like this happen in racing. Pressure of winning the championship at the last races makes you lose your head a bit and do stupid moves.

Massa and Bourdais... see comment above...

Going to be a cracking last 2 races!

have to be fair and say im losing interest with all the goings on, Hamilton isnt developed enough to win, and the FIA seem hell bent on making sure he doesnt win.... not a good combination

Does Massa deserve to win? i dont think that he has as much raw talent as hamilton, however he is more experianced and it shows.... although i would be more recieving of him winning the world chamionship if the FIA had'nt put him closer to the title by silly judgements - win by winning not by default etc etc

OMFG is this guy for real?

"I did the corner normally and he came back very aggressively and hit me. I think that was pretty much as deliberate as can be," Hamilton told reporters in a briefing some time after the end of the race.

does this guy think if he says that then the millions of people who saw what actualy happened with forget??

When asked by ITV Sport’s Louise Goodman if he regretted the move, Hamilton replied: “Of course.
“You can always look back and wish you did something else, but I made a mistake and I paid for it.

he clearly locked his breaks up. even is there was no collision then he would have had to pit as he ****** his tires right up.

I agree with you saying that Massa hasn't got the talent of Hamilton, and yes he has got the experience but only on paper. He's still making the silly little mistakes that hes prone to do. He hasn't done any for a while so I suppose he was due... And I 100% agree with you about winning the championship on your own without the aid of the FIA. It's why I didn't like the way Ferrari got gifted the crown last year. Regardless of weather the punishment was fit or not... it still gifted them the win and it ruined it. The FIA are pretty damn close on doing the same this year.

Another Anti Hamilton fan huh?

I think he admits he made a mistake in the first corner where he locked his brakes up and went straight on and causing havoc to Kimi and other driver's which was around them, his quote regarding the coming together between him and Massa is a seperate incident, and since he was actually 'racing', he's entitled to say what he wants in my opinion...

It's brakes, not breaks :p

Another Anti Hamilton fan huh?

no no, not a anti hamilton fan. just a anti ******** fan. altho with you saying
Another Anti Hamilton fan huh?
sounds like theres many out there. seems as soon as someone has a comment other than in favour of lewis then you all jump on there backs.

EDIT/ after reading itv`s forum it seems your right, theres alot out there.

good point here made by double world champ alonso tho i think

"After 16 races the leader has 84 points, but I had that many after nine races in 2006," Alonso recalls.

anyways like i said, lewis ****** his tires up the first corner and would have had to pit stop anyways so wouldnt have won. pure and simple me thinks. he will win the championship this year but wont next year and be just another damon hill. LOL

okies lets get realistic about this, we are Hamilton fans and i think i can speak for most of us in saying that we are also realistic people that review the whole facts presented....failing to do this is stupidity

re the above.... i think yes Hamilton fecked up, Massa also fecked up a lap later but in bigger fashion... contesting this will make you look extremely stupid indeed

you cant compare Alonso when he won the chamionship as Ferrari were still developing their car for one and Mclaren were clearly not in the running at that time for 1 reason or another.... nothing aganist Alonso at all, he won it fair and square which will be loads more than we can say for Massa if he comes through

For the anti Hamilton fans.... i really dont get you, this guy is potentially one of the most promising sportsman that we have ever had, yes he needs to develop, but he doesnt need what ever percentage of his own country slating him and hoping that he fails......and you wonder why our football team are so nervy on the pitch and never win anything major.... the day we stick together as a country is when we will start to succeed more than we are now....fed up with all the negativativity in the UK about our own. If you want to be negative go get a job as a journalist and help reduce the economy further by creating widespread unfounded panic amongst the general public

Man of Mystery aka DBXdarkangel?

from what ive read over the post then i guess i can see how you assume that. like i said before, seems to me that this forum welcomes good opinions and debates but as soon as someone has a different opinion to everyone else then you guys and maybe girls feel it necessary to jump on that persons back.

i think the comment about alonso winning the championship when ferrari was developing the car is abit lame to be honest as that was the car driven by 7 times world champ and yet alonso bet him twice. i agree tho about massa making a big mistake too a few laps later. i read on a formula one web site this today and i cant agree more.

1996 world champion Damon Hill told BBC radio's Five Live: "Lewis is impatient to win that first title, but you can't force it."

Even Hamilton's bosses were unimpressed with his overzealous first lap at Fuji Speedway. "Lewis can sometimes be a bit too fiery," Mercedes' Norbert Haug told the German press.

McLaren chief Ron Dennis added: "It would have been nice if Lewis had been a little bit more prudent in the first corner."

i think there both not worthy at the moment. there making too many stupid / amature mistakes. i mean lewis did the same thing last year in japan when he drove onto the gravel in the pit entry and lost the championship. he doesnt have a clear sensible head on him. its ok for people to say its because he`s stilla rookie. but he`s been driving for mclaren and under ron denis for years and no them tracks and should have more dissaplin.

i couldt agree more, who knows? this may be why he seems to have the extra spark on occasions.....

the Alonso comment wasnt lame, it was more a point that you cant compare seasons in F1 as we know due to developments etc etc.....take last year, where was Alonso in comparison to Hamilton in the same car!!!

its not the fact that we jump on your back, if you make a fair comment that meets the general consensus then you will get a positive answer, if you talk utter twoddle... you will get the response you have had.... why did you appear to gun for Lewis when a lap later someone called Massa made a far worse mistake - this may be why it looks like your anti Hamilton - dont forget your in a cleansed environment where you need to write everything on your mind otherwise people only take what you have written as your entire thought process.... in this case it looks like you are ignoring the far worse mistake a lap later

hope this helps

Tim

Well ,Hamilton has done a good job & got P1 ...lets hope he can do better in the first few laps than last weekend? Crunch time & I for one wish him luck-just hope for a fare race and that they can get on with it without any `offs` to show who comes through on top!:racer:

Yup, his final lap was pretty much faultless. Although they seem to be saying that Kimi is 'very light'. Hamilton can't be that much heavier than him, if at all?!

Going to be a good race though. Looking forward to it! Hamilton has to do it alone because of Heikki's position. If it rains, its anyone's race!

woohoo, just about to wack teletext on but thought id come to my trusty AS-N source first......

hope he makes a good go of it this time, wouldnt suprise me if the tactic is for Kimi to get in front of him to annoy him more than anything - his own fault if he lets it IMO

should be a good race:salute:

Great that lewis is on pole, it's a shame heikki isn't there to back him up, he looked well p***ed off when interviewed, I just hope fernando doesn't get involved to **** things up for Mclaren, I thought his comments earlier this week weren't very proffesional, I wish he'd put his gripes with Mclaren from last year to sleep, anyway looking forward to a great race.

those torro rosso's seem to get better and better, i doubt hamilton will win he has a habbit of putting it on pole only to throw it away. I think Alonso is in with a shout on the podium with the other place going to massa and for once i think kimi is in with a shout of a race win. The Ferraris are going to be very quick down that straight, also rain is predicted which may work in hamiltons favour but lets hope this time he changes his tyres....

one of the big plus points is that hamilton is on the clean side of the track so hopefully he'll do well and prove all these negative Great Britain supportive fans wrong....he did look kinda dwarfed with the Ferrari boys in the press conf haha

yep just watched it, what a boring race. What does everyone think to the stupid suggestion by the FIA to have 1 supplier of engines and gearboxes ? if they do that then you might as well rename it A1 gp

Solid drive from Hamilton, first half of the Job done, now he just needs to finish 5th position or above in Brazil to secure the Driver's Championship! The race was boring because the Top 4 driver's finished where they started, looked like Webber was the only guy overtaking in the whole race!

I laughed so loud when Massa said:
I was strong enough to catch and pass [Raikkonen] and that was the best part of the race for me - but it was not enough.

During the press conference after the race with a smirk on his face.
