I'm thinking of fitting one of these. Where's the best place to source one? VagParts?

How do I get the old one off?

Vagparts is a good place to look first - I got mine off them

When you get your handbrake cover you will see that there is a small thin strip of metal on the inside which points upwards - this clips onto the handbrake

When you see it, it is pretty self explanitory

I used a very fine, thin screw driver to hold down the clip then pulled the cover towards the front of the car

It can be quite niggley but its an easy enough job!

Thanks Boydie. Any thoughts on where to get a matching gear level gaiter? VagParts only seem to stock DSG ones...

martyn & crew will source if you ask as alot of stuff isnt listed

I thought the metal clip pushed upwards not pulled down when I swapped for my stitched one, now you get me thinking, **** another trip to the car to check, lol

Just phone vag parts - they will be able to get it

Have you registered your account to them by phone and told them you are a ASN member? you will get a 10% discount

Really, ****** hell why didnt I know that before, lol, right now I know where to for some parts

Do all members of ASN get the discount or only those that register their account by phone?
Would i have it since im from Greece? :)

Register online and get a member number, then phone them to say you are a member of ASN and quote your member number and they will update your account to automatically deduct 10%

I get 10% off from the dealer and they deliver to my door for free :)

Mind you, is that still dearer than VagParts? LOL

Thanks Boydie. Just registered with them, and have sent them an email asking for my 10% discount to be applied :)

yeah the email is fine - that's all i did. no need to phone them.

when you are registered for the discount the discounted price is shown against all parts when you log in. in other words the discount is included in the price. also it is not 10% on everything, some things are 5% and some things are also zero. i assume the discount available depends on whether not it is a "common" or "popular" item and they can get discount from audi on the parts. I've bought loads from them in the past and the discount usually is applied, however i recently bought an armrest kit for a friend's A3 and there was no discount. I rang Martyn and he said that they could not offer a discount on it at the time as due to sterling being weak they were going to lose money if they applied the discount.

Me too. I would usually use VAGParts if the item is small or i'm buying several things so spread the postage cost over all the items.

Just had my discount applied - happy days!
