Possible BIIIIG Petrol Price Drops!!??!!

Would this be the same analysts that forecast our such good financial climate so far, lol, seeing is believing, its amazing everyone starts buying nice new petrol cars at beginning of the boom number years ago, petrol goes up, then we switch to new diesel cars diesel goes up, now urrrm is this fixed or what!!!

Ok I forecast it being nowhere near 74p.

I agree that it will probably never get to 74p again, but as said, heres for wishful thinking, it would be good if it even dropped to the early 90p range or late 80s, any reduction is a good one after all hey...and the amount of petrol i use, a little makes a big difference....lets wait and see hey :)

I cant see it dropping to less than a pound a litre as the goverment is making far too much tax from it - and of course completly wasting the extra cash on the latest daft idea - all IMHO

How very true!

Yeah heard but not actually seen, lol, doubt ever will in our lifetime, when fossil fuels are abandoned sometime in the future for more green cars with 20,000 duracell bunny batteries they will give you free petrol, buy 100 batteries get 1 litre of petrol free, sound familiar, lol

LOL....i remember the days of 74.9....oh memories!!!

74.9p I remember filling the tank for 18 quid only a mini granted but prices were still quoted in £ per gallon and there getting near to that per litre now lol

You're like a little script hiding in the code for one liners huh JoJo, lol, admittedly good ones, mostly anyway.

Which planet you on, near that, there's places where its £1.34 per litre already

would like to think of it at 74.9 jesus thats the lowest ive ever heard!
Back in 1994, when I'd just passed my test and started driving round in my Mk3 Escort 1.3GL, I always remember that a tenner would return 14.73 litres. Don't know how I remember that, but I do.

Just worked out that was when four star was 67.9p a litre...

Cool someone as old as me knew the post, lol

cheeky feck, I'm only 34, as old as I feel, missus is 26 so I feel 26, lol

Amazes me how some people think £1.05 is cheap!!!! I mean were not talking long ago there were some strikes, and we all remember them. yet no-ones bothered this time round. I recall Richard Hammond on Top Gear tell us about a guy who was getting as many people to sign up to his website so to see about getting a "petrol card" for one of the big retailers to provide cheap fuel. He needed 500,000 people to sign up. he had more than that but had no sucess at all, now his emails have all but dried up bar the odd few telling us about discounts on tom toms:keule:........... And by the way do i hold the record.... I remember 4 star at 52p!!!

NHN snap im 34 also :)

Dont remember the price in litres when I passed as it was always displayed in gallons somewhere around £2 a gallon so more likly to see that per litre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember 70p a gallon!! when it went up to a £1 a gallon I almost sold my Scooter, I was filling it up once every two weeks with £1.50 worth!!

Thanks for that, made me feel so much better about £1.24 a litre of derv, lol

Best I can remember as a kid my old man filling up at a Jet petrol station for £1.45 per gallon, must of been 20yrs ago roughly........ahh good times & cheap uneconomical 8v petrol engines were all the rage!!

I remember when i passed my test and was cruising in the cavalier, it used to be something like 64.9 if i remember correctly...its actually gone past double that in recent weeks, crazy hey in 11 years how things can change!!

I remember when a tenners worth lasted forever...

tesco near me price yesterday evening:

unleaded - 102.9 p
diesel - 113.9 p
super unleaded - 106.9p

was 5p per litre dearer than those prices on the way to work in the morning!

use 5p off per litre voucher and makes normal unleaded 97.9p  back to under a pound, keep it coming!

dropped about 6/7 pence since last week
