Nothing major, but I had a bit of a car cleaning day yesterday,..........getting the A6 all spanking for sale mainly (but gave the blue one a good wash aswell).

The enginebay was filthy and dusty when I bought the car due to the previous owner's private lane that gets dusty in summer. During the week I removed all plastic engine covers, scrubbed them, soaked them, scrubbed them again and then used various products to bring them back to looking like new, stain-free and jet black.

While the covers were off yesterday I spent a good 3 hours scrubbing up the bay itself. Many cloths and baby-wipes later it went from this...........

The underside of the bonnet is absolutely like new with the grime removed......

It makes the other engine look rather dirty now......

I changed the number plates finally to the shiny new fresh ones and then washed both cars with Meguiars Gold shampoo......

I'll carry on this week with it but there really isn't much to do to it now :)

you do know i hate you now paul ?

lol lookin nice mate ! if i had the spare candy i'd have your arm off !! even though its an avant !! lol ! ;)

What's the 2.7t engine like Paul?

Was thinking of getting an A6 and I've always wanted the 2.7 bi-turbo engine since it first came out in the late 90's. Have you had yours remapped? I can imagine it would be quite rapid with the boost slightly cranked up.

Whereabouts in Horsham are you from? I'm sure I've seen your car in Crawley.

Good errort on the cleaning front. Looks great.

Hi there chap :)

The A6 is compleeetely standard,.................but the S4 is mapped, and yes they are great fun.

I'm south of Horsham and try not to go to Crawley lol

For sale on Piston Heads now though :(

If it wasn't an Avant, I'd bite your hand off!

I'm a bit too young for an estate at 21, but I'm desperate to get an A6 2.7T, I've always wanted one and after the current fleet is sold I can get a nice one and mod the life out of it!

Oi, there's nowt wrong with Crawley, I've lived here most of my life, and it was far preferable to South East London where I've lived! I guess you live in Colgate or thereabouts?
