Has anyone retro fitted a glovebox CD changer? I'm under the impression you need a new glovebox liner and I imagine you'll have to replace the entire glovebox. Can anyone clarify this? Thanks in advance.

Yes you'll need a new glovebox to do the job properly, or you could just cut the back out of your original one.

Thanks Issac, will call vagparts on Monday for some prices.

I have the iPod console in my car and the sd cards in the rnse. The changer is for a mate of mine. He has a lot of CDs and admits to being a technophobe!

I cut the glovebox in mine as I have no intentions of taking it back out. I also didn't want to pay the ridiculous price Audi quoted me for the correct CD Changer glovebox. Only took 30 minutes to do and that was cutting it by hand. If you have a Dremel or equivilent it would probably be quicker.

no i don't! have you thought about fitting the symphony ii+ to it? 6 disc in dash changer with mp3 support - plus you might be able to sell the old radio for a few quid.

He's going to fit an RNSe in the future, but wants a changer too.

Thanks Dave. How did you ensure the changer stayed put in the aperture? Is it a tight fit?
