Audi R8 engine oil cap/cover?

I bought one of fleabay and though it fits, the point it which it is secure means it sits at an angle.
Not explained very well, so I'll try again.

The current oil cap has raised bit to grip on to which runs from left to right. When I put the R8 one on the handle runs diagonally across, so doesn't look quite right.

Be interetsed to kow what Awesome do to them and if it is to rectify this issue?

Ha ha ha, so what do you do to get the handle to sit in line?
 
The cap just splits in half and you can position it in 3 different positions for different cars, i had this problem with mine sitting at the wrong angle too but now mines nice and straight.
you basically have to remove the rubber ring from around the outside edge and then pry it all apart with a flat bladed screwdriver, position it as required and snap it back together, and replace the rubber ring.

Does it sit nice and tight then with this mod just like the original?

Would not like any gaps to let any crap into the engine!

You only separate the cap where it is built in 2 parts anyhow and no there are no gaps left.
 
audi upgrades
Its just plug and play, I have had no issue's at all and didnt have to modify it!

It sits higher though than the normal oil cap to be honest
 
I Bought one came last week i just took the old one out and put the new one it. Looks good and straight not on a angle or any thing

lol, just watch out for the springbok fella or I suppose roadkill nice for a braai, castle lager, wors couldnt get better for me, lol
 
when you spend a year with no one but hometownies then you certainly pick up the lifestyle huh, lol, loved every minute, miss it to a degree, but next stop Italy & no doubt will be my resting place interms of home anyway
