Audi R3 + R8

I don't recall it.
240bhp diesel with quattro and a semi-stripped interior?

Also an interesting letter in last week's Autocar, from a bloke dismissing the alleged R8 waiting list as nonsense.
He stated his local dealer has 3 in stock and he has been trying to sell his for months, without success.

Specialist cars in Aberdeen *allegedly* tried to charge a client of mine a premium for their demo R8.
He got one from a dealer down south, cheaper and better spec.
They even paid his airfare down to go get it.

I didn't get a shot of the R8 the other week, BTW.
It was in getting its paint done.
I was offered a shot of their TT-S instead, but that didn't interest me at all.

Never heard of the R3 but the R4 with the Porsche Boxster engine was announced not long ago. Audi are launching that many models and engines it's hard to keep track.

As far as the R8 goes i can't say i'm surprised. Seems to me they were kinda flavour of the month and now with the economic climate etc interest in the car has plateaud.
Personally i'd still be putting my money Porsche's way.

Agnews in Belfast have 4 of them. 2 new and 2 used. Agnews in Portadown\Craigavon had 4 of them too last time I was up there.

There may well be a waiting list for speccing up your own one though. I know if I was spending €170,000 on a car I'd want to build it to my own taste and not just take the one they happen to have in the showroom.

It is for that same reason we all order our A3\S3s rather than just settling for the one they have in the garage at the time.

Hmm i don't know though Marc...

Used (with delivery mileage) R8's were changing hands for a shade under 100K not too many months ago just to avoid the waiting list.
So are we saying that everyone who wanted one badly has now got one and it's as freely available as every other Audi Model?
I'd go as far as to say an A3 2.0TFSI quattro like mine is harder to find for sale than an R8...and that saying something!!

you think it is expensive?? lol.. come to my country where R8 list price without any options is €225.000,00!!! damn taxes!!.. you can buy nearly 2 R8's in europe for this money lol..

compare that to 210 for a Bentley Continental GT and about 250 for a F430 then it begins to look rather cheap. Ignoring the cost I know which one I'd be going for given the choice.
