Im about to puchase a mtec HID kit for my A3, so I also want to upgrade the sidelights because they will look yellow. Ive done a search and found PIAA do some xtreme white sidelights BUT the bulb itself is blue and this can be very evident when the lights are not on. Is there a bulb that produces a nice white glow without the blue, i just want the bulb to be clear. Thanks.

The whitest lights have to be blue afaik - mine were blue but with white light but were not that bright!

Do you have a link to these PIAA bulbs?

Are you sure you want to put a HID kit into reflector based lamps that were designed for halogen bulbs? the beam pattern will be very poor, there will be lots of glare and you will blind oncoming drivers. You would be better off installing some high performance halogen bulbs like Philips x-treme power or Osram Nightbreakers.

I would recommend PIAA Tera LED's for your sidelights

I got someblue bulbs in my sideslights and they look blue but when they're on, they look pure white.

Dont know what they are as the prev owner put them in

decided to upgrade my halogen bulbs instead of HID kit now. Ordered some Osram nightbreakers, Philips silver vision indicator bulbs, and PIAA chrome whites side lights. Hopefully the osrams will be better than the standards H7.

Wise choice Mike, I have Philips X-Treme power on my MK4 Golf at the moment and they are really good, The Nightbreakers offer similar performance, you will definitely notice an improvement.

Your car is really nice and you don't want to cheapen the look by adding a HID kit - they are a common sight these days on chavved up Saxo's and Corsa's!

My friend bought LED bulbs to change lighting of car numbers. Everythink is ok but computer every time he start engine make light Erorr.

Do someone of you know how to make it without error?

the LEDS throw up a error on the dash because of the low current the bulbs draw, so the car thinks there is a bulb blown hence the error message. You can get around it by fitting resistors or buying some PIAA LEDS which have inbuilt resistors but they are big money. If you want a bright white sidelight best going for some standard wedge type bulbs like PIAA or Philips.

yeah i know what your saying. dont want to be peeing any other road users off either, and at the end of the day its not legal. dont want to ruin things on a car like ive got just for the sake of some cheap HID kit.

:) - good man. They look so much better as they have the chrome finish rather than the blue finish.

Just out of interest, where did you get them from?

yeah i just can not stand blue coloured bulb glass, then it reflects off the headlamp relfectors and makes it look 10 times more blue when the lights are not on! These being chromed glass makes it perfect.

Ordered them online from http://www.priracing.co.uk/ Ordered them thursday, they arrived Monday.

Cheers Mikey - that's who we're sourcing the bulbs from for the group buy - looks like the chrome mirror DRL bulbs have finally landed in the UK.
