After a slight heart stopping moment :scared2: in the Swiss alps on Saturday, I want to fit some bigger, better front brakes, has anyone done this?

What are the options?

Or can I just fit ****** good brake pads & which ones??

Thanks for your help..

I made lots of search about that. There are lots of options. ECS stage 5 is the cheapest one. it use porsche cayenna 6 piston calipers, pagid pads and custom made rotors. couldnt found any informative review about that. Brembo have big brake kits for s3. 380mm 6 piston. You dont need to upgrade brake cylinder. lots of s3 and golf r32 users have 355mm 4 or 6 piston brembo BBK. they are all happy with their BBK's. Also there are much more option. Alcon, ap racing, rs4 system, movit etc.
I will change my front brake system too. I think 355mm 6 pot brembo will be enough. also will change the rear brake pads and lines.

not decided yet. but apr has the 355mm 4 pot brembo brakes. i am trying to find 355mm 6 pot system.

You uploaded the video of your moment yet?!

fwiw, I've always thought the stock S3 brakes to be more than enough for one panic stop.

granted..if you are bombarding the car for the last few miles, it'd be a whole different ballpark.

Mind sharing what you'r going for? and why?

ditto,i could understand if the standard brakes were crap but there not. Bigger brakes will only really benefit with prolonged use and maybe slighty more bite if your going to quick or brake to late then it doesnt matter how big the discs and calipers are.

After 30 miles of hairpins in the alps, which I plan to do a lot! I came in to a bend and nearly went over the edge , nice 3000 foot or so drop!
Had some other problems too, braking from 160 to 80, takes too long, ask the Pug that I nearly wiped out when he pulled out on the Autobahn! RS4 brakes I think

For me best choice is AP racing lot's of my friends bought it for them Evos and STI and they are awesome!

ive spoken to dave from the ttshop as i was interested in the 8 pot RS4 brakes and he told me he hasnt fitted one to the new s3 yet so wasnt sure if they will fit but with the older s3/tt they needed adaptors for them to fit so maybe they are a direct fitment...? so a few notes cheaper... he did ask me to come in for a trial fit but just didnt have the time....

good luck

I have a set of 8 pot RS4 5 x 112 mm brakes brand new and never used laying in my garage if anyone is interested. They where bought and trail fitted to a car but never actually connected up or used in any way, there`s also a pair of front braided hoses.

APS have a kit for the S3 using RS6 calipers and need 10mm spacers.

The Audi s3 8p and the Golf MkvR32 does not share the same configuration of Spindles..... i`ve ordered a Stage V from ECS for Mkv r32 because i have an Audi s3 8p and didn`t fit....
