looks good mitch - you should post some shots in daylight. the dusky shots don't really do it justice.

there's a nice sparkle off that front end!
they don't look as dark in daylight which is good. I was concerned that they'd be very dark. they do look darker at dusk which obviously adds to the stealth effect.

did you use a hairdryer to dry off the moisture mitch, or did you just let them dry out naturally?
don't have a hairdryer, but my cousin who did my tints has a heat gun which I may be able to borrow. i'd rather not ask if I don't need to though.

Ah now I see what you're going on about Marc, also I see that august no spend rule went out of the window huh, lol, about as good as mine which made me spend huge lump on new alcantara/leather new seats, typical, but when all mods done I'll be at end of spend then as wanna start looking at an S3 sportback stronic, which brings me to next question, how'd you get on with the test drive mate?
I like this lamin-x mod TBH, its subtle & also from what Rabbit says doesnt affect light output, get my new facelift rears tomorrow & some other kit to start finally doing the list of mods on the car, I might also indulge in this one to, I'm guessing by time I get round to you'll post some images up.
Question though, Rabbit has xenon which is much stronger clarity light & yours are halogen I'd like to know if it affects yours at all given different light systems, let us know mate thanks.

nah, both the lamin-x and spoiler were paid for in July so August will still be a "free mod" month, even if it isn't a "mod free" one.
Loved the test drive, but ended up deciding not to buy. the dealer wasn't playing ball on the prices so I walked away. Not too fussed about it really as I prefer my own car.
Got mine fitted this evening. Will post some pics tomorrow.There is pretty much no loss in light. They do look dark when the lights are off, but once they are turned you can hardly see the tint
Fitted mine yesterday - went on easily enough with no "fingers" or major bubbles. Woke up this morning and there are about a dozen pea sized "mist" patches under each one (not big lumps just patches). Did these dry out on yours and if so how long did it take ? Ta mate
Yeah I have these on mine too. It says in the installation notes that these will dry out after a week or so. I think it is the remnants of soapy water that didn't get squeegied out. I'll post some pics in a bit. The mistiness only appears to be noticeable when the lights are on - at least that's the impression I had last night.
Rabbit's were the same when he fitted his, and he said his have now dried out.
I wonder if the mistiness would be there if you just used regular water (i.e. with no soap). Incidentally, I didn't use any water to attach the fog light films as they were so small and they have no fogginess at all.

mine arrived there during the week and thought it was a parcel for something else so will try get a chance tomorrow to fit them or later tonight if the rain goes off for a hour 
same principle as tints on windows really huh, they have like the tiniest bubbles at 1st but they go after a few days, they use different liquids of course, but same method, sucks the liquid/moisture out under the film & eventually will dissapear, I would hazard a guess if you didnt use the soapy water they wouldnt install so easily as the soapy bit adds the ability for locating easily in correct position no??
Marc - with your lovely, long flowing hair I would have thought you had a hair dryer
prefer to let it dry naturally Boydie... all that heat every day can have a damging effect - plus it'd take me about two hours longer to get ready for work in the mornings!
i'm still waiting to hear back about the l'oreal contract too.

Typical they only accept credit cards, I dont use credit cards at all, no need for them, oh well have to call in favour of a mate.
One question I do have & maybe its been answered already further up, but couldnt see after a browse, can they be removed easily & if so are they reusable which given its same system as window tints I doubt but have to ask huh as just thinking about my bixenon plus upgrade doing as soon as have the headlights so might leave for when got them

think you just heat them with a hairdryer or similar and then peel them off and use some goo-gone stuff to.... eh, make the goo go gone. same principle as tints, but they're a polyvinyl film so a bit more durable than the window tints. they're a similiar item to the stuff they use for advertising on the outside of a bus.

Credit cards a essential nowadays. I pay off my balance every month and in 4 years they have charged me about £3 in interest on a cash withdrawal on holiday but have given me back about £200 because I get 1/4% (was 1/2%) cash back!
I have just signed up for a Shell card though as it's 1% on purchases and 3% on fuel bought at Shell!

Ok I see your point, I meant in respect of actually the whole point of a CC, yes there are cases where you would need them to make payment as most american companies only accept CC's which I cant stand, but in terms of actually having them so you have money available which isnt actually physically yours then this is why I dont need them, not because I am stinking rich or well of at all, average guy working as we all do, but I choose not to live in the land of credit , I just think credit cards are dangerous territory no matter how much they've charged/credited you, they are partially responsible for the credit crunch we're now experiencing as people are using there CC's to finance cars, even houses & now find they're well & truly fecked & this is from some mates of mine who are mortgage brokers, you'd be amazed at the amount of credit people have, one person had 100k on his CC alone & was using his inherited house as collateral which was mortgaged anyway, ****** crazy man.
If I have earned the money then I can buy what I want to the limits of what I earn of course, if I dont have the money then I just have to wait until I have it, simple as that, just dont see point in putting temptation in front of me & then takes ages paying it back with charges & then finding I cant have a normal life, so I choose to live in reality not fantasy believing I have money coming out of every orifice like some people I know, false economy, if you dont have the money then why spend someone else's(unless its your partners, which usually is other way round for me, she spends mine, or used to anyway, lol)

I use my card to buy most things because they give me money back for free. I'd be pretty silly not to take free money wouldn't I? It costs me money because I access my CC online banking on the same site as my back accounts an just pay it direct.
Also everything you buy is insured if you buy it on your card.
I never spend more than I can afford. I look after my money, and having a card does not tempt me to spend. Not in any way whatsoever. I've got a brain.
I told my mate off last week as he has a £1500 card full up and only pays the minimum payment every month. He was shocked when I worked out it was going to take him 25 years, and £2500 on top of his debt, to pay off.
But I firmly believe that everyone should have a credit card. For emergency use if anything. My girlfriend is in Poland right now with her parents and she needed to book a flight back at short notice. The travel agents could only get them for mega buck but online it was cheap as chips. Neither of her parents had a credit card though so she had to use mine! I find that a bit stupid.

Had to scrap the fog light covers as they were not big enough - my car is an 04, did the fog lights change in later models?
Going to source window tint though for the fogs

have to agree with you staz. while there are people out there who use their cards as free money, I'm like you and pay it off at the end of the month.
I find it so much more convenient to just carry a credit card round than lug around big wads of cash. i only ever buy something if I have the money to pay for it already so will never get caught in the credit trap. i have a 15k limit so it is handy to know that if an emergency does arise that if I don't have the cash that I have that as a backup. obviously if i did need to tap into it as an emergency fund it would be paid off at the end of the month with a lower interest bank loan or similar rather than letting the interest build up at 9% each month. I also get 0.5% back on every transaction at the end of the month which works out at over a grand a year. i also carry a fuel card on which I get charged the fuel company's wholesale price rather than the price on the pump - again this is handier than carrying cash and means I'll never be stuck at the pumps without enough to pay for fuel.

all it takes is a little willpower nigel. just because you have a credit limit available to you, doesn't mean you have to spend it all. not sure I understand how a guy could run up 100k on his card and use his house as collateral. credit cards are effectively unsecured loans and need no collateral.
other than my mortgage I have no personal debt and manage to have a comfortable lifestyle funded by hard graft. I think to bundle all credit card holders together and blame them for the credit crunch is a bit harsh. on that basis all drivers would be responsible for the carnage on the roads, and all sick people for the state of the NHS.
anyway, I think that's enough off-topic discussions about the credit crunch.... any more of that and we'll run the risk of turning into a serious forum!

Boydie, got your PM, but I'll respond here since it may be of interest to others too.
The s-line fogs are different to the standard ones, but they'll all be around the same size. the sport fogs will be the same on all models up to the current facelift.
Mine also didn't fit exactly. My s-line fogs are sort of oval and the lamin-x has a flat bottom on it, but was also wider than my fogs.
what I did was put the flat bit at the bottom and line the top oval up with the top of the face of the fog not the top of the curved bit (if you follow what i'm saying). I then folded the overhang around the sides and bottom and trimmed off the holder bits.
window tint isn't the same stuff and probably won't do you any good for the fogs. the lamin-x stuff is a polyvinyl film which is more resilient than window tint as it is designed for the outside of the vehicle. window tint is designed for the inside and is more prone to scratching. I'd bet that the first time you put it through a wash it will end up all scratched and the heat from the fog bulbs may even melt it.
when i fitted mine I turned on the fogs and the heat immediately started to burn off the excess moisture - so much so that there was steam pouring through the grille. I initially thought the film was going to melt with the heat.
by the way, I had a bit of trouble getting my fog light grilles back on. they don't seem to want to clip back in on the insides. the outside edge clips in properly but the insides won't. anybody else had this problem with their s-line grilles? going in for a service in a couple of weeks so i can always get the dealer to take a look if i don't get it sorted by then.
