Ok so ive enabled my coming home lights, im looking for the headlamp switch with the coming home/leaving home button on it. I remember finding it on an american parts site but for the life of me cannot find it again, its the one with the crome on the main switch.

Does anyone know the site????

Cheers

Do you have halogens or bi-xenons mate?

With halogens you can wire up the switch to turn the function on and off but you won't easily be able to get the LED to come on and off with it as it's controlled by a module.

With bi-xenons you won't be able to turn it off and on with a switch from what I can tell.

I was checking out the new ones with chrome on ETKA & with my parts mate, they're quite a fair few out there, trying to nail down which is the correct one for your car is fun, think I've nailed it down to 3 now, lol, update when got as could be left with useless buttons or gaps.

But question, people with DRL's, do you have the 1st turn marked as DRL on the headlight switch or is it just Auto as mine is & also do you have the seperate DRL dial for brightness?

Aha thats bit more handy, but would be nice if they had part numbers on there aswell so could track down mine as mine is one of those but reversed, but as adding DRL's with new headlights I might need different one thats why question about the DRL on switch, but still handy, is this the german version of the US site as I recognise it from while back.

My first turn on the headlight switch is Auto. Then got a separate dial to turn the DRLs on and off and another for brightness of interior lights.

is that the dial next to the dash brightness dial so its an on/off dial?

ah Jon, question, your folding mirrors, do you ever get the problem where the drivers side doesnt always fold out fully into position & you have to do few times or push into locked position?

I'm thinking door control module as not mirrors as changed them completely & still does.

Yup, that's right - not the best pic, but you can just about see it below:

Yup - I had the exact same problem. Car went into Audi for a new door mirror within about a month of getting the car! It's been fine ever since though, but the mirrors tend to fold in and out at slightly different speeds - doesn't bother me so long as they work :).

Yeah can see the dial, so its just got a 0 & 1 position on the dial for on/off or more numbers afterwards?

ah ok, well I've changed the mirrors for completely new ones, I've also stuck power directly on them & they fold perfectly in/out without any drag so its gotta be the door module dragging heals with the current/power as thats only thing that would do it now, I'll test one last time with the meter but I am heading for new module then, joy more frigging money, thankgod for ebay

yeah the drivers does take longer as I think they are set at different angles when locked in unfold position, I think they adjusted the drivers side with newer ones for better angles mate as my newer mirrors did that, had me thinking my eyesite was outta whack until I checked the angles, lol

Yup - just a 0 and 1 position - a switch similar to the coming/leaving home option would have been better IMO, but still, it does the job.

Makes sense re the mirror angle now - cheers for that. I reckon you're right re the control module - as you said, that's the only thing left to change! Hope it sorts it for you mate.

Yeah I dont get that, would of been alot neater for a nice button like coming home, but guess its a space issue & redesigning the whole switch, easier for them as it had a spare slot for where the headlight range would go & as most have the auto motors now for levelling guess it makes sense to not complicate there lives & just have a dial that fits perfectly in place with no redesign issues

Yeah cant be wiring as checked so must be module, thanks for info.
