Someone with ETKA? - Recaro's

Can someone with ETKA please check to see if the recaro option has seperate part numbers listed for bits of the seat?

Specifically after the gloss black seat backs as I want some made up in carbon fiber because i'm an idiot.

If anyone else is interested in grouping up for the seat backs in carbon please let me know and i'll sort out prices.
 
Where would you get them made? and why would you need the part number for it?

I tried to order seperate parts for the seats before and was told there is one number for the entire seat and that's it.
 
I'd like to butcher a 2nd set rather than the ones currently on the seats so I can put back to standard at a later date.

Maybe they're available from Recaro direct...I shall find out.

I see. I'm not sure you'll have much luck with them either. I tried to order RS4 seats a while back and they emailed me saying they don't supply those direct.
 
Yep, spoken to Recaro UK who say they can't sell me parts for OEM seats, and they said Recaro germany wouldn't want to know me because i'm not Audi.

So basicly if Audi won't ask for them as a seperate part it's game over.
 
Retrim the leather? They can order the leather as a whole piece.
 
The leather is POOR at best...mine has started coming apart already.

I think i'm going for blood red leather over the winter :)

You CAN buy seat parts sperately, we have always been able to get them for people. Yeah OK not all of them but you can for example buy a new base, new bolsters, new covering or say heating elements to put on your exsisting seat.

This is unless Audi have changed it for the S3 with rec's.

Would RS4 seat backs not be the same also? - only difference is the lack of reclining handle in the holes...seats look the same to me size wise.

do you have recaros and have you told Audi that they are Recaros? Perhaps they are under the impression that they are standard\sports seats. Only once in your "letter to the honcho" did you state "leather to the drivers side bucket seat".

ETKA does list all the component parts for the standard seats, sports seats and S-Line seats, but the Recaros are just one piece. Presumably they come from the Recaro factory pre-assembled.

They should know what seats they are!! they took pictures whilst coming out to look at them..

Oh god, i smell another **** up lol

Ah well, i'd be happier if they just put a new seat in anyway :)

I'd gamble my money on them being the same - any chance of a part number for the RS4 backs and i'll get them ordered.

They might have an RS4 at your dealership to check on. There were 2 in Bedford yesterday when I was there.
 
Right Stoke audi and kindly sorted this one out for me.

The backs cost.......wait for it.........£534.28 each!

I thought it would just be the plastic bit, that's for pretty much 1/2 of the back of the seat.....hence the price.

No i'm not spending £1100 + carbon covering just for it to look a bit fancy....I may use that extra money to cover them in alcantara when I get the retrim instead.

Time to chillax with the spending on the car for a while, i've got carried away big time this month.

I guess you missed my point. They cost about the same as they'd cost as an extra. ie £1,685+VAT=£1,980.

It would actually have been cheaper to buy the car without, get the seats afterwards then fit them and sell the sports seats! Unless you got a good discount on your S3 that is :icon_thumright:

EDIT: Hang on 2k A SEAT?!
 
Someone sold some genuine RS4s for about a grand recently on ebay.
