Get a good deal on it?

Maybe im biased, but i really dont like it. Sorry, not wishing any offence, its just my opinion. I could list at least 6 reasons why i dont, but im not about to **** on your chips now am I ;)

Thanks mate for honest opinion, It would be worst if I don't like it :) Everyone can have own opinion :)
I like that car very much :)

I did not like it when i first saw the spy pics of the facelift but i have to say it really has grown on me and im starting to really like it!!

I think the front end looks mean. However i dont think im ever going to like the wheels. Just down to personal taste i suppose.

Apart from that, the car looks sweet!! Good luck with it, hope you enjoy it!!!

i defo like the colour mate..but not a fan of the sportback really

Not sure why you bothered to post, but I wonder why you don't like it. ;)

Theres a lot of negativity in this thread.
Personally I like the look of the SB, S3 SB looks even better IMO.
Liking the colour too.

Very nice motor mate

As above :iagree:
i think Audi have the proportions of the S3 SB just right
i would certainly aim to have one in the near future
well done and good luck :salute:

i think they look well smart.are you waiting till september 1st

See if they'll throw a new phone/camera into the deal.....

Excellent looking car. The colour looks fantastic...maybe biased opinion seeing i have just ordered one LOL. Only thing i am disapointed with is that you got your before I got mine! I got to wait till the end of November....booo hooooo

Congratulations mate, glad you like it as much as you thought you would.

There's a lot of negative feedback on the facelift but the fact of the matter is.... The pre-facelift will date much faster than this. I think it's already started to.
The massive wing mirrors are now the law so you can't aim it at the car as a criticism!

Bet you're dying to take it for a spin...Just don't let Audi wash it!

Ye gods, I didn't notice the mirrors!
They're like Lineker's ears.
The facelift 3 series has huge mirrors too.
Someone will make a mint selling aftermarket alternatives.
On the bright side, can't see thieves bothering with the standard ones any more?

I love the S3 Sportback, the only negative thing I could think of would be the lack of 19" wheels as an option.

The wheels you have chose look very similar to the 18" that are on the TTS as standard, bet you cant wait to get behind the wheel, very nice :)

its a fantastic car that you will love to bits, its just that I cant get past an S3 should only have 3 doors! Enjoy it :yahoo:

Must be one of the first - bit of a shame the pic quality doesn't do the car justice.....

its strange why the 5dr gets so much stick over the 3dr.... don't worry though you will be laughing when it comes to resale when you get 1500 more for it than an equivalent 3dr!

Best colour i think too

I like it, a lot - **** pictures though - were you shaking with excitement?? Those mirrors are huge, but all cars are going like that so nothing we can do - I have a new A4 at present, mine in for warranty work, and it looks like its got dumbos ears!!!

I need a bigger 4 door car next year, and the DSG version of this is definately on my short list

Waiting till the 1st September for collection??

Completely agree with that - nice looking car that - love the colour!

Well i clicked the thread, looked at the pics, then wrote my thoughts. Maybe i shouldnt have said anything. Im not going to post all the reasons why I dont like it, most have been said already anyway....

Its personal taste, im sure grizly will love it :icon_thumright: The S3 is a lovely interior to be in :)

a3 sportbacks just look like estate cars to me, which i dont like. nice colour though. and im glad your pleased with it.

The S3 Sportback is finally on the configurator!!! Now excluding DSg, my spec comes in at £33000 OTR, add £1500 for DSG, thats £34500!!!!! Alright, after 10% discount thats a better £31k, still a lot for an Audi A3!

I've also been looking at the BMW M3 Saloons, as an alternatitve, and these, under 6 months old, are coming in at £42k - considering they are around £55k new they have certainly found their place in the market.

In around 7-8 months time, when I will be needing a bigger car, I might be able to pickone up for around £35k trade....... now thats a lot of car (proably won't get the best response on an audi forum)

I'd take the coupe over saloon everytime, even if i had 12 kids lol!

Ha ha, I'll have 3 by next April, and believe me 3 door cars and 3 kids don't mix - Maybe I should get the bread knife a S-max, and I'll get a toy??

You'd have to be loopy NOT to choose a second hand M3 saloon for £35k over an S3 Sportback for £31k .....

Well said, I have 3 kids now also but even trying to squeeze a rear facing carrier into the back of an A3 or S3 gets to be a right pain...
Besides.. thats why I bought the missus a 7 seat touran!...

I say, old bean, me and the Wife are enjoying some Pimm's on the patio and couldn't quite make the photo's out. Any chance of making them bigger?

All joking aside, the colour is fantastic, and they do look a lot better in real life.

Generally looks good.
The wheels are better than I thought, the headlights don't offend me too much but I will reserve judgement on the mirrors and the 'bling-rings' around the foglights...
I can't see why an S3 shouldn't be available in both 3 and 5 doors. Does anyone have a problem with and RS6 Avant?
Oh, and Sprint Blue is definately the way forward!

Thank's guys :)

After 3 years of driving A3 2.0TDi and S3 I decided that it's time to buy some car with 4 doors, I was thinking about A4 but S3 sportback was ideal option.
I love full bucket seats, and I can wait until I'll try magnetic ride but I have to wait till the end of month because I'am going Egypt :( But after Iam back I have already prepared trip for testing my new car :)

cheers

Bucket seats are a superb option but i think they should be standard in S and RS cars. Had i gone down the S3 route i would have definitely spec'd them but the TT-S was enough money already without another £1700!

:rulez: You should know by now Leon, you're not allowed an opinion unless it's the same as everyone else's.
Opinions are fine, of course, but there's no point coming into a thread to say there's multiple reasons why you don't like someone's purchase, but then not bother to state those reasons. It doesn't contribute anything.

gr1zly, it will be interesting to hear your thoughts on magnetic ride, especially seeing as you've had an S3 without it.

I considered getting it, but was tied to a budget so I had to rule it out because I wanted a few other options. Maybe next time.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just going to start the "I dont like huge mirrors, 5 door S3's, new style alloys, shape of car debate off again"

I have personally owned 3 S3's, 2 8L models and 1 8P (soon to own a facelift as its on order so will have owned 4 soon).

I think that when a facelift has come out Audi have improved the car everytime, its just change people dont like.

I remember when the first 8P S3 pics came out it was slated by nearly everyone on here as being **** compared to the 8L, that has soon been forgotten as people have got used to the current one out and I bet thats what will exactly happen with this new facelift.

Will be very interesting to see how many prefacelift owners on here end up in a facelift next year.......
