have to agree though, screen looks quite small. Presumably we could buy it without the vent so that those of us who like making thinkgs ourselves from fibreglass etc can have a play...

you never know someone might want to install it in the boot or engine bay or something! :jump:
 
yeh ill be bodging my own install!!! maybe in the ashtray as a fold out!!! or really trick, ditch the airbag and have it in ya steering wheel!! (or maybe not lol)

I also have to agree the screen looks small but as the s3 vents are lager than the tt vents it could just be that!! Think the vent mounts look a touch boring, could do with some more detail??? or instaed of it bein solid, try make it look more like a vent so it still lets air through like the mk4 golf boost guage holders???
 
yeh i have to agree, the vent does look a bit poor, the screen looks like it needs to be bigger to fill the area, i'm thinking ash tray too, or maybe a DIY job somewhere else..

when are these ready to buy?
 
you could even build it into the rear view mirror, or sunvisor or perhaps in the centre of the wheels - replacing the hub cap....


so many possibilities:idea:
 
could this be mounted in the sun viser? would be more useful than the mirror....

Yes, it comes as a kit so that you can either fit it to the vent or elsewhere, some TT buyer have put it in the ash tray.

It doesn't say anything about exchange air vents?? Is it £170 with air vent on exchange basis?? Also are you doing a discount on a group buy with everyone on here??

More info on the exchange air vents will go up later, these have been designed and built by a separate company owned by Nev, who is introducing a range of mounting solutions. The exhange air vent is on top of the basic kit for £170, Nev will confirm the prices, and I'll put that on the web site once I have it.

As for a group buy, I previously said that there would be a 10% discount if 10 or more people ordered. Either someone here needs to take the lead on this and organise or, once I have 10 or more orders I will make a 10% rebate to those who have purchased.

Looks like you got the oil temp issue sorted then? Is there oil pressure as well, I've never been sure if there's even a sensor for that on the car?

I'd be interested just for oil temp and boost!

Have you managed to make it so I can also connect up VAG-Com or would I need to disconnect this to connect VAG-Com?
 
I am going to see if I can sneek it into where the Heated seat switch position on my pre-face lift...too small for the air vent I feel!

I love the look of this thing, However, I want to see it in an A/S3 first. I am surprised by the size of the item for a start, i think it would look rather small in an Air vent. This leaves me with the heated seat switch location (pre-facelift) as the only real area which it might work as I think the mirror would be a mare to fit. What size is it....does anyone have dimensions, and what sort of lifespan should we expect...? Alot of money at the moment, but worth a wee look if it will fit OEM...
 
That is actually quite small when you draw it on a bit of paper, can't you make them with a bigger screen??

yeah, it is small..but too big for the heated switch location without doing some major cutting....not a big fan of the air vent either, food for thought!
 
cup holder seems the best place to me... would involve some cutting and hence not reversable (unless new trim bought), could look good if done properly...

Any pics of TT's with them in... other than the air vent ones ?

It's a shame the screen is in landcscape format and not portrate as i've just had an old dash appart looking at fixing the common prob of lines missing in the Drivers information screen and i'm sure there would be scope for fitting it place of the DIS after all this does all what the DIS does + more is there any scope for turning the screen through 90 degree's ?? after all what better place than right inside the Dash with the existing clocks
 
I am looking at different places, and the best place I can think of (without majot cutting) is freestanding below the ashtray on my prefacelift? Need to look at mounting options for that!!
 
ill be honest guys, ive spent many lonly evenings in my car with this trying to fit it in different places and i think you would understand more if you had one in your hand but there is no place to mount it, the ash tray wont work as it as not as deep as the TT,

the cup holder will work but for you guys shy of a dremal and a knife i wouldnt even bother, i am brave and willing to try new things, the air vent pod is ready to go and have them sat waiting, if not feel free to ty other mothods but please trust me ive tryed!!

if you do want to try new places please buy one first, if no luck, contact myself and i will sort an airvent.

if you want me to try different places let me know but as someone has said i have tryed sun visor and steering wheel,

i would also like to say when have you ever looked at an ash tray at that angle before, it needs to be in a place you wont have to take your eyes to far off the road!!

Nev, I was sussing out the cup holder today, and going by the size the screen it's not as long as the CH, so what I'm after is what did you use as a surround to the screen? what did you mount the screen behind? as the piano trim on the facelifts is really quite thick to mount behind...

Having looked at various options I am going to 'suspend' my purchase until I see one mounted in an A/S3 air vent, as I am not convinced that it will look OEM (I am not a big fan of pods either). Nev, I think this is an excellent product, but for me it needs to fit well and the only place I would have it at the mo. is to replace the blank heated seat switch, which as you rightly mentioned is a 'mare to fix. Therefore, if anyone has completed the mod I, for one, would be grateful for pics...

these will be through jim @ race diagnostics

they will be £30 on exchange basis, havent sorted a price for non exchange,

when you order you gauge just let them know you are after a vent.

this vent was taken from mt LCR.
