Need someone with VAGCOM.

Orite guys,

Need a favour from someone who's got Vagcom. Wondering if I could come and meet up with you because i'm really interested in making afew changes to the S3.
Read on previous thread that you are enable to change various standard features using Vagcom.
i.e. lights, alarm sound, seat belt.

Like the idea of the doors unlocking when you press the fob once... NOT click.. click... click... hold long.. click :keule:So annoying.

So if anyone of you guys has got it and is free to makes the changes to my S3 please let me know.

Yeah Heathrow shoudn't be a problem.

S3 + Heathrow = 25mins :racer:

Where about are you exactly mate?
You should be ok with all the changes i'd like to do...

I Live in Ashford which is nearer the M25 than Heathrow. Im about in the evenings this week and will be around at points at the weekend. I'll pm you my phone number and you can ring me and arrange a time. Have you got a list of what you want changing so I can find the correct addresses to change them?
 
I live in Kent and have VAG-COM (a genuine one) your more than welcome if you are passing

Here the list of what i want changed:

-Flashing third brake light\hazards for emergency stop
-Instrument lighting when headlights off.
-Rear lights stay on all the time (like the DRLs)
-Alarm beep.
-Doors / Boot open with one click on the fob.
-Change the auto windows setting so that when the windows are open and the car is locked when you keep the key fob pressed down as soon as the windows closed you could let go of the key fob and the windows continued to close, rather than having to keep the key fob pressed down until the windows closed. (I nicked this from RobinA3's post :))

That should be it really mate.

If there's any other interesting features that you guys have had changed on your cars let me know.

Also these changes wouldn't be a problem is the car goes to the dealers... i mean they wouldn't say anything will they....??

The dealer won't even notice.

The rear lights on all the time is just a case of switching the DRLs from North American to Scandinavian.

Do you know the codes for the Instrument lighting? If not I can send you them.

Do you have an RNS-e? If so you can enable the Aux-In port - (see the link in my signature for details)

Teardrop rear wiper - one wipe 5-10 seconds after washing to clear any residual water.

I haven't got ANY of the codes but spoke to Dandle and he said put a list up of all the changes and he'll try getting them.

If you've got access to the codes then yeah hook them up for Dandle to use them on Saturday.
I'm liking the teardrop rear wiper too. :sm4:
Wasn't aware you can make so changes.

Also read somewhere about changes to the DIS...?? What kind of changes can be done there..?

One other thing u could do if u have the auto lights:

Lee changed my DRLs so that the rear lights are on with the DRLs, previously they were not (u might have noticed in france)

Oh is it I didnt notice them on your car... but yeah defo thats one of the changes i'd like done.

If you use the Long Coding Helper on VAG-COM 7xx or 8xx then you don't need to know the bit/byte values - it shows you a list of the features with tick boxes next to them and then calculates the bit/byte values for you. Easy, peasy.
 
do u have coming home lights enabled?

When i get out of my car the lights stay on for 20-30 seconds, fkucking useless but looks pimp :p

I'll hook up to my car this evening and make a list of the intersting stuff that can be done with the relevant coding required.

Yeah i've got the coming home lights enabled... Shame people still say.. "oh look you forgot to switch your lights off" :think: then you've got to explain what it's all about
 
I know where most of the stuff you want changing is, its the same stuff i did to my sportback. Marc is the rear tear drop wiping called just that, thats the only one I cant remember seeing?

It can be done and I didnt need to use long coding either to do it on my car. I think it was a tick box called "one touch closing" or something like that anyway.

Also make sure Byte 05 bit 0 (Comfort Function inactive) is not checked.
 
The settings for the cluster illumination are:
Select 17 (Instruments)
Coding -> Function 07
The last digit controls the instrument lighting when the exterior lights are off.

Mine has just needles lit (which I think is a 7). You can change the values from 0 to 9. I think 0-4 is for US and 5-9 EU.

The options are (I think) :
0/5 No Lighting
1/6 Back Lighting
2/7 Needles
3/8 Both
4/9 ?

I've been led to believe that if you opt to have the dials lit at all times then if the light sensor in the cluster detects that it is dark it kills the illumination do remind you to turn on your lights. Not sure if that is the case though.

EDIT: It would appear that 0-4 is for auto-dimming and 5-9 is for no auto dimming. I assume auto dimming is what turns the lighting down when the photosensor detects that it is dark.
 
I have mine set so that the dials are be lit all the time and the sensor does not turn them off at all. I do have auto-headlights so I don't know if that makes any difference.
 
sorry to jump in lads, but can some of these functions be done to my 04 18T cab in my pic.
shouldnt mind having alarm beeping and windows closing when i lock her up.
what else can be done.

****** hell, looks complicated.

i cant understand why the windows arent on, my previous audis were.

can the splash screen on the rsn-e be changed aswell.

does anyone on here with vagcom live near the midlands?
