I'd say 20's are way too large for the B5 frame.
And I bet if I ask you how it handles, with that ride height, and large wheels, you'd say "it handles fine".

But scientific logic would suggest otherwise.

All that, and just a 1,781cc 20V engine, developing 125PS??

To my knowledge, Audi never made those style of rims, in that size for an A4.

A8 / S8 maybe?

no they do make the 20`s, they come on the S8. i have seen them parked up in london. there is 1 as a posh taxi.

it mite be a vw phantom cant remember. i just remember the 20" rims and me wondering what they would look like on my car.

i think it looks reasonably ok, although 19s would probably be more in proportion. the rear is also a little low (or the front too high?) for my taste. the car is very clean in general though - nice.

in deference to siena's bit about the low-powered engine, i don't see how it has to matter. 125bhp or 265+ bhp, it's largely irrelevant, and in any case perhaps the owner doesn't want the ownership costs of a high-powered engine.

for the record, mine's a 1.8n/a
(to be fair though, if i was the OP i would debadge the rear)

It does matter though - accelleration will suffer, the gearing will become way too high with such huge wheels.

The rolling radius should be the same though, if he's got the right sized tyres, something like 225/30/20's are under 2% larger than stock.

Assuming his OEM size was 195/65x15.

Will be a bone hard ride though, hitting anything larger than a pebble would certainly buckle the inner rim.

I run 19's on 235-35-19 tyres and the rolling radius is the same, gearing etc is spot on, the speedo is acurate, I am lowered on coilovers and have no fouling, (well slight grazing tyre to plastic arch liner when hitting a bump on a tight corner - but dremel will sort that out )
I think they style of the wheel makes it look bigger, with the spokes all the way to the flush edge. it does make it look slightly out of proportion. but not bad!!

I did have slight front outer arch lip fouling when first lowered but solved it with a bit of rolling (caveman style as know one around here would do it)

All to every ones opion. Im 18 and injoy life as i can..
I went 20s because its different, every one goes for 18s 19s on audis n its boring to me so i went the other way. I have had no problem as it going slow or any speed'o out of wack its exack same never been fined..

Nothing is rolled on the car all stock and no touch, 3/1inch in the rear and 2inch in the front the front different needs to be more lowerd but its lowerd as much as it can with out rolling the gaurds.

Costing in tyres isnt to bad, ruffly they got for $220 a trye im good friends with Sydney Tempe Tyres in AUS n i get these tyres for $160 mates rates so its all good cost wise for me..

Put i this way, u drive it nice n u treat it the way it should be driven nothing bad wont happen its a imac Audi..

Sounds good.

But, you could not drive your car in a spirited way in the twisties.
Still, kudos to you for running wheels that big on a B5 platform.

I think they look alright, personally i wouldn't go for anything that big unless it was a range rover or something like that. But as you said you only have a 1.8 n/a and tuning options for those are pretty bare. Hats off to you, you get a good deal on tyres which i hope are good quality. I certainly couldn't afford 20" profile tyres here.

She looks like a very clean and cared for b5, so well done and welcome
