SB Rear speakers...

Mate of mine just bought a SB.

There was no sound coming from the 'rear speakers' he checked for the 'fader option' and there doesnt appear to be one!
Having a closer look, there doesn't appear to be any rear speakers installed is this correct?

If this is correct of Audi not to install the rear speakers and only the grilles, will all the correct wiring be there for speakers to be installed?

What head unit does he have? If it is the base GenII model it may have less speakers.

has he bought it new or used? maybe the previous owner whipped them out.

HU is the chrous one mate.

That was my initial thoughts however, the previous owner was the dealer... ex demo.
So I shouldn't think they would have a reason to take them out.

Just looked on the pre-facelift brochure and it states that base models come with Chorus and active front speakers....no mention of rear speakers.

So I'd assume it wouldn't have had rear speakers fitted.

I don't know but I wouldn't have thought so.

Not much help but I know the Golfs that had no rear speakers didn't have the cables so I'd assume it's the same with the A3.

if its the special edition model it doesn't have rear speakers !

Just one more thing.. I take it the speaker pods will be the same size as the fronts. Does anyone know what part numbers and wiring we would need to get them installed and up 'n' running?
