Hi all,

I have been browsing here for a while and now that my M3 CSL has just been sold and collected, I am in the market for an S3. I am looking for a used one, must be white and must have the RS4 style buket seats, would want SatNav also, but I know that I can get this retrofitted by Craig whereas seats cannot.. Would also want the digital TV module. :)

But typically I cannot find any with this spec for sale. There were some about a few weeks ago.

Once the car is purchased, I want to start with exhaust and remap mods, then wheels and suspension. Should keep me going for a while ;)

How much you looking to spend?

Shame you want the bucket seats, as mine has the Milltek, wheels , re-map etc that you're after - I need to change for a Sportback in the new year, due to an increasing family size!

You can have mine for £28, 900! LOL

No bucket seats but they only cause you problems anyway, see L6ON's post!

Thanks guys, too kind ;) I will be paying the going and market rate for a good example. Currently Glasses guide sits them at around the £24k-25k mark.

Give these guys a try.

Nothing listed on their stock list at the minute but when I bought mine it hadnt actually made it onto the stock list anyway.
Worth a phone call at least.
I found them very good and they are cheaper than the main dealer network for used cars.

They are an independant AUDI specialist, and offer in house performance upgrades such as Milltek, REVO etc.

Good luck.

Cheers
Paul

I would have swapped your CSL for my S3 :ermm:

Now he tells me ;)
I spoke To JonnyC a couple of times as I know hre mentioned a possible change, but I think he is in deep modifying his S3.
The CSL is a very different car, and can best be described as awesome. I will miss it and the sound, but fancy a change after 2.5 years. and hopefully an S3 will be a good car while I make enquiries into ordering a Nissan GTR Vspec or a KTM X-bow... Be nice to get back to a turbo engine.

Thanks PaulAr, I'll look into them.

Good to hear you sold the CSL Paul..

Yeah decided to keep the S3 as I have already spent a fair bit on the car and for the money not much gets close to the perforance unless you go with an old evo/subaru etc..:puke2:

Hi Jonny. Yep, easy to get more power out of a force inducted engine. Although I hear today that Thorney Motorsport in conjunction with Supersprint have a manifold for the CSL that with a remap offers approx 425bhp! Now that will rock.

But for me, I am going down the S3 route and a few modifications to get around the 320bhp mark and an increase in torque. Just to decide on which company I get to perform the remap. Hmmm.

CSL :anbet:

There was an Ibis white S3 with bucket seats, sat nav, FBMFSW, cruise etc for sale at Crawley Audi a little while ago. They were asking £28,995 for it and it was a 57 plate.

If you're buying to keep for a few years then I'd be more inclined to go for a Phantom Black or Sprint Blue as they will be easier to sell once the current white trend dies down a little.

Not sure I'll be keeping the car for years, but I find the black, reds, greys a bit boring. And I have just come out of a Silver Grey car. I Fancy something a bit more standout-ish...White it is. I am fully aware of the possible reduction in resale value, but hey, we don't ever buy cars to save money. Just think a white S3 with 19" black BBS CH's would look good.

Thats got to be with head work, cams etc etc etc but yeah 425bhp is getting there! :)

Depending on what you plans are for the S3 I would recommend a GIAC hammer map with turbo back exhaust and intake, you should be around 320+Hp with 330+Ft/Lbs

You will appreciate the low down torque of the S3 over the CSL, quite a different car to drive daily..

Jonny

Yeh, looking like the GIAC Hammer is the favourite at the moment. I have also contacted the Supersprint distributor in the UK to get a price for the turbo back full system as Supersprint manufacture the cats with 100 cell, not 200 as per Milltek. Should breathe a bit easier and sound a bit better.

P.s. As far as I am aware, that 425bhp on the CSL is just with the full exhaust system incl. manifold and a remap. The CSL doesn't allow for any headwork due to it limits and tolerances
