Hi I just went into my dealer and......

Sat down to swap my car and they offered me 5%. Can people tell what discounts are available quoting Dealership / Salesperson. Obviosuly I'm looking for more as a family we have had around 7/8 high spec audis.

Its the sales process. arrghhhh..

David :)

Ring around, I spoke with 12+ garages and secured a deal (I though it was good ayway....) :whistle2:

Whats coast to coast? I know where I want the deal I just need to show what other dealers are offering.

dave

I would have thought 5% was Ok from an audi dealership?

I'd be looking for 8 to 10% at the moment.
Consumer spending is down, credit crunch, S3 is not new anymore etc, etc.
There will be a dealer low on numbers who reallly needs to hit there quota..... shop around! Take a few online deals and put them in front of the dealer - if they want the business they should give you it!
Happy shopping mate - approach it as a challenge mate, I always find it makes it a little easier to bear!

Let us know how you get on.

J

i got 10.2214% dis altogether incl all extras and exclusive paint

Don't go for less than 8% from Audi Dealers shop around you will get it they want your business I have been offered between 8/9% from most I have visited people are not spending money like they were & certainly not buying £28k+ motors they will want to deal.

www.coast2coastcars.co.uk , broker that just intro's you to a main dealer, and you just deal with (and pay all your money to) the main dealer. Same as drivethedeal, carfile, broadspeed, etc.

See people keep saying this but I'm not seeing it myself. There are still plenty of cars being bought, people are still spending money. Just look on here for evidence! I go out for dinner with clients and the restaurants are packed regardless of what ever day of the week. The shops at a weekend are busy.

Very true marriedblonde.

Can someone give me a dealer / salesperson name who has offered 9%?

My sales guy wants some backing so he can put to his manager.

Goto coast2coast cars, spec your car and prin out the final options/price and take it in to them. They are messing you around. Normal tactics.

Then find some on line finance that is offering a good deal - www.car-finance.net is quite a good one, print those figures out and tell them to match it or you'll go else where.

Job's a good un, good luck :)

Has no one else got anything around 8%, If so what dealer.

Highest Iv'e got is 5-6%.

Are the cars being bought though, or leased?
Just a thought.
I don't go into town very often, but I was in last Saturday.
I noticed several shops out of business, empty units.
That's Aberdeen too, which traditionally bucks the national trend, having the oil business and all.
I heard last night that Barratt homes sales are down 43%.

Personally I think that has more to do with the fact that there are very few GOOD mortgage products being offered anymore. If you have had a mortgage for 15 years plus, made all your payments on time blah blah, then you will not have a problem.

Trying to be a first time buyer though in this market is almost pointless, give it a few months and one bank will test the waters with some competitive products and others will follow suit.

Hopefully....

Try Tonbridge Audi if you are local to them they will give you 8% if you push them a little

Who else has mnaged 8% through an audi dealer or near?

David

I got just over 2k off mine without even asking.

It came in at around 31k

Was that through Teesside Audi again?
Every time I've spoken to them they have not entered honest negotiations. I wouldn't care, but a mate of mine is very good freinds with the director their and I was assured they would look after me! But no!
I remember the end of our conversation.
Them: "You'll struggle to find a better deal than that sir"
Me: "So, that's exactly the same price, for the same spec I got on the online configurator...... PAUSE..... you're offering me full book price then?"
Them: "I'm afraid I've got no margin to move on this car"
Me: "Errr, bye then!"

Wearside this time mate, and I'm telling lies it came in at just over 29k inc the discount!

I've heard a lot of people from the Middlesbrough area are heading further north as the sales teams are alot better, funny as I know Sunderland & Newcastle are owned by the same company as Teesside Audi.... not sure about Wearside - are they Colbrook & Burgess too?

How long till the new one arrives now?

Yes mate all the same group.

Shame because myself and my dad have had numerous cars from Teeside but seems the lovely new premises they have is being paid for by not so good deals!

The salesman I dealt with had moved from Teeside and is a top bloke, worth a look if anyone is wanting a new car.

3 weeks tomorrow and counting now until its build week then probs 6-7 weeks it will arrive in Sunderland!

Keep shopping around you might have to travel out a bit to get the discount but will be worth it...be prepared to do the deal there & then some wont commit until you are going to sign on the dotted line as they know you are playing off each dealer if you have a p/x mention that after you have reach the discount you want, better off getting the discount on the car so gives you a choice of selling privately if you wish.

Stop rubbing it in:yes: been told if I place the order next week looking at early October....Damn it I want one now !!!!!!!!!!!!

Right waht percent at wearside is that then?

Looks around 8-9% to me.

David

JAMS3 looks like a good deal that. Was it 8% you got?

Can you PM me thr guys name or something and where are you from

Dave

Aren't you making this into a little bit of a saga just to get them to take £30k off your hands?

You know you can get it for at least 8% off from a few sources - they will know that & will probably have a margin of twice that. I can't believe they actually need to validate other dealers offers before offering you an average deal - all the bs around buying a car; jeez, and you are supposed to be a loyal customer!

Good luck - use the Broadspeed quote and the other information and screw them for every last penny.

True. Point Made.

I will hit em with the option of having 30K off me.

David:yellowrs4:

I echo the above comments Dave, if they want proof that says to me they are accusing you of lying and I would go elsewhere!

The dealer I ordered from is in Sunderland but lets be honest 8% is only around 2 grand off and not exceptional to ask for.

Lets be honest the car is not new, its a facelift so discounts should be more available now than they were just over a year ago when it first came out!!

Yes, I am gonna spec a car.

My car is on pistonheads and classifieds on here for £25495 with all the options. There are a few cars on pistonheads up for alot more money.

I don't know what colour to go for next either another orange because I love it so much or a white one with possibly a black grill.

David

Coast 2 Coast offering 8.5%
Coast2Coast are now offering less than a grand discount on the S3. It was over 2 grand the other day. That's less than 4%.

I've just been offered approx 6% on an S3 Sportback. The dealer says they wouldn't normally give that much on a Sportback. Reckon I should push for more?

Go for at least 7 or 8 mate!

Its interesting what you say about Sunderland AUDI.

I went there a few months back and the sales staff were a disgrace.
They kept me and my family hanging around in the showroom and the Sales guy who (eventually) spoke to us was arrogant and unhelpful.

These idiots lost a sale as a result and out of principle I will never use them for servicing neither.

Good friend of mine had the same experience except he told the Sales guys he had just lost a sale and took his 30K up to the Newcastle branch the same day.

Would be interested to see how you get on.

Good luck.
(Apologies for slightly of topic rant!)

Cheers

This sounds very much like Glasgow Audi! Always keep you hanging around and are very arrogant and haven't got a clue about the spec of the cars!!

I bought our current A3 from Leicester even though I stay in Glasgow. Glasgow weren't interested in giving discounts.

I was going to give them a go at pricing the S3 this time. I emailed one of the salemen I had been spekaing to a couple of weeks earlier when I was in looking at the A3 CAB. I emailed him asking for a quote on the S3. No response!!

We went in to Glasgow Audi a couple of weeks later, once I had obtained a couple of quotes. I actually went in to see their Sprint Blue demo car. I was about to ask the guy to quote for a new S3 when he started talking about the fact that they had sold the demo. I asked him how much it had gone for and he said "not far off list as we don't discount the S range". At that point I though f$£k you, I'm not even going to ask!

I eventually placed my order with Perth Audi. I too am sorry to go off on a rant but some dealers really annoy me. Anyway I got 8% off at Perth :)
