I think Ed was advertising his for around the 10k mark not sure what he sold it for in the end, but I think it was fairly comparable to yours. So maybe betwen 8 and 10k?

and only found out it had eibach springs on it recently lol

This one then. ;)

thats the one, ive had the exhaust refitted as it stuck out alot before, had the rear brakes done so it wasnt just the big front brakes doin all the work, mite get a coilover kit fitted next week, im just not sure if i wanna keep spending money as im startin to want faster with better handling and not sure what there is left i can do.
What you think?

get privacy glass and remove the rear bench that will lighten the car a fair bit?

i need to keep it practical seats wise and stuff, and i am guettin the tint soon, but other than that i cant think, apart from poss a bigger turbo kit but the handlin will still not be astonishing.

Oh and thanks for puttin the pics up guys lol

oh btw what suspension should i change to?
atm im contemplating the weitec coilovers, worth it?
ive heard billie b8s with the h&r springs can be abit hard.
I want the optimum handling/fast drivabliity, but i do do alot of long motorway work miles so it has to ber comfy enough for that.

Any other mods u guys deem a must (haldex, sprint booster, etc)

Cheers

I have the b8's and H&Rs on mine and wouldn't say that they are are hard ride. They absorb small bumps fine, probably better than the standard setup, bigger bumps potholes etc are ok.
They provide a very good setup for fast backroad driving but also provide a comfy ride on the motorway. The only thing I would say is don't go too agresive on the geometry as on the motorway you really have to pay attention as otherwise it wants to wander.

Can't comment on the weitecs as I have no experience of them.

thanks for reply,
im not sure what to get, what are coilovers like in general compared to the b8 set up.
Is the b8/h&r set up better than a pure bilstein(b12) etc as it seems to be alot more popular.
Do you guys deem the sprint booster and haldex controller a good mod?
Is there a way to bring turbo spool time down and purhaps smoothen the delivery (is it purely a remap).
Cheers

coilovers will be a harder ride than the billies and h+r's, but you want it to handel well so you are then looking at getting the coilovers for the best handling from the 2 options, so you can either go coilovers and have to except it will be a little harsh on the ride or go back to your original post and sell it to buy something more that you want, personally from my experiance you would be better to sell now rather then to spend more money that you will loose when you sell it as you will never be entierly happy with what you have your end up wanting more again,

thing is theres not alot faster/better/as practical out there for the money, so its looking like im gonna have to keep the s3 and make it as nice as possible i mean i do like it, and it is quick but it doesnt corner that well, and u can feel the cars weight and the power delivery is quite sudden.
Ive heard that suspension change makes a massive difference, i just wish i knew how big a difference it makes:p
cheers for your replys

the sprint booster from what ive heared no good with re-mapped cars they seem to get confused, from what iheared the haldex controller is good, and you really cant beat coilovers i think most people go for the billies and h+r combo for the ride quality but if you really want to change the carcteristics of the cornering then you cant beat coilovers there superb but you would have to also get a more agressive geometry setup to, theres a sticky about this at the top,
also if you want the car to be more smoth with the power delivery then id sugest getting a customcode stage 2 re-mapp then you can have it set up a bit more how you wish

hmm maybe ill go for b8's then
out of interest how much will the car change with the suspension change, is it a massive change or does it make u wonder why you spent the money? im also wondering if internals and bigger turbo should be on the horizon, and sell my ihi.
cheers for your replies kev

Where are you based Brab3r? The best way to find out wihich option is for you is to get a ride in someone else's S3 that is already modified. Then you can make up your own mind.

I have just got my car back having fitted B8's/H&R springs and ARB's. At first I thought I was going to be dissapointed with the improvements in handling. However, when you push on the improvement soon becomes apparent, whilst retaining most of the comfort at normal speeds. The standard suspension is poor.

I spent ALOT of time hunting out other/better non-coilover routes, but I am so far (after 24 hours) pleased with my setup.

If you are trying to improve the handling comfort will always be comprimised, but I am pleased with how little comfort has been lost. I didn't tell my other half that I was getting new suspension fitted and she has driven and been a passenger and has not said anything... yet - so it can't be that bad!

ye i dnt mind comfort being comprimised abit, i used to drive a supercharged mx5 with tein race coilovers which was hard as anything,
im based in buckinghamshire near high wycombe and not too far from milton keynes.
also my suspension is on the way out anyway my rear shocks are corroding and will start leakin soon i think.
Id just like it to feel more planted and not feel like it alway wants to run wide and that its on the edge when you go round a bend.
cheers

p.s. youve succesfully announced your naughtyness to your other half now:p

pm me if you sell the ihi first dibs for me please :)

will do, although i dont know how much of the kit would be retained for use in the new kit, so you may not get a complete kit, but things like the turbo would go of course
