drying towel

when were on subject of drying cars, do any of you use a drying blade?

i have one but am worried of putting say a light scratch in paint, so dont use on my car.only on windows

Water blades are a big no go area in our opinion, as they can inflict terrible scratches very easily, on both paint and glass. When it comes down to towel choice, you ideally want a towel that can absorb really well when using a pat drying method (wipe drying is best avoided, as it leads to marring over time). Waffle weaves get our vote, hence why we stock them, but any towel that meets these criteria and is easy to wash and maintain is worth considering. :icon_thumright:

thanks rich,
i am thinking of buying the jeffs kit. i belive there is a towel in there. now would this waffel weave be ok and do the job for my car?what should i use to get a smear free finish on glass?
thanks dan

I tried the waffle first but i didn't like it so got a miracle dryer they are superb imo no scratches at all unless you drop your towel or pick a bit of dirt up, also leaves no smears at all:icon_thumright:

The towels that come in the Werkstat kits are for applying the Werkstat products, and are not designed for drying off duties. We love the waffle weaves and use them professionally, but as shown above, they aren't to everyone's tastes (that said, I tried the Miracle Drier and didn't like it, so we decided not to stock it - just goes to show what works for one doesn't always suit everyone!). On glass, quick detailing with a plush towel after washing usually produces smear free results, but if you mean how to get smear free results when using glass cleaning products, then the answer is apply them using a work towel, then allow to flash off for a few minutes, then dry buff with a fresh work towel - works perfectly every time! :icon_thumright:
