Hey guys, has anyone on this forum had the stage 2 map loaded to their 8P S3 yet? If so could you please post up your impressions. I just received a call from my local dealer informing me of the map....

I was aware of them working on a stage 2/3 that will incorporate the fuel pump etc. However I don't think it's available for purchase yet.

Stage 2 and Stage 2 + will be released very soon.

I will find out more details of release date and Hardware required for each

I thought someone on here was already running Revo stage 2. Just cant think who at the moment....

Shaun as you say this software isn't fuelpump specific, but is tuned to suit a car with an uprated exhaust, intake and other parts on. It's been on numerous cars in UK conditions and works perfectly here. You being in South Africa with different conditions and fuel quality could be the issue however the Stage1 map isn't detuned for your conditions either.
In regards to differences on the map there 'should' (and is on the cars we've done here) an increase to overall power but possibly a slight decrease in low end torque. There's a lot more up the top end of the rev range to account for the additional components on there with the lower end midrange slightly less aggressive to account for cars that don't run uprated fuel pumps to prevent fuel cuts and boost being pulled back due to limitations of the pump. The overall timing is more aggressive so you'd have to run much lower settings than stage1 if the fuel quality isn't great.
This setup was sent through to your dealer as a request had been put in, it's not a specific code to suit your spec as you really want the stage2+ setup to suit the pump upgrade, running this shouldn't have any negative effects though. We're yet to see any data from your car though so have nothing to work with if it's too aggressive for the climate or fuel quality out there!
Stage2+ isn't available for the K04 based cars just yet however stage2 is available on request for the S3, TTS, Cupra and Edition 30. Stage2+ tuning is done though and is just pending final testing for figures pre-release.
K03 based Stage2, Stage2+ and K04 Stage3 software is all available on request if your dealers don't already have the relevant software!

Hey Kev, thanks for the reply.

Ok, where do I start with regards to settings? Trevor your new dealer was messing around with settings and could have gone a bit too aggressive hence the timing pull? Any and all help is appreciated mate...you have my email address, send the info along and I'll get cracking with my SPS :)

Hi Shaun,

I've been chatting to Will whos been working with Trevor (as Trevor isn't a Revo dealer). It sounds as though the settings that have been tried aren't as recommended, I would start on a low boost level (boost 3), have the fuelling at 9 and then start the timing at 1 and build up... do not try to set it up on the dyno, it's a complete waste of time on your car as it will struggle for traction on all four wheels, will see more load than it would on the road, and most likely suffer from heat after the first run. Data acq. on the road is by far the better more efficient way of setting it up!

You my friend are star! I'll get cracking.................

Re: Trevor, geez didn't know that...I was of the impression he was our new dealer :3sadwalk:

Hi there Kev..
Does this mean I can add stage 2 to my Ed30 then? If so how how much?
I have Stage 1 at the min along with TBE Milltek, but still have stock airbox as not had any need to change it going off MAF reading from VAGCOM and the way she's running at min. Plus only uprated intakes i've seen that are any good, Djbias (spelling) and EVOMS, require removal of engine cover, something I don;t want to do.
I chatted to you @ Inters for about 10 mins whilst you fed and watered me with your hospitality by the way. Not sure if you remember..? lol

Hey mate, yes I remember chatting to you at Gti... and the good times you were running on the strip!
The engine cover is the intake system on most of the TFSI cars, although the TTS has a separate intake and engine cover... possibly something that could be used on your car if you did go aftermarket and wanted to retain an engine cover (I don't know if it could be altered with VW badges though, sure it could).
You could go to stage2, it would be a £50+vat upgrade fee (some dealers 'might' charge for setup time though). Without all of the additional bits though I'd be inclined not to bother, your car is running great and the stage2 really just 'ties' all of the components together... in itself it's not going to give you any huge increases although the topend will be slightly better you might lose a little bit in the midrange as with an uprated pump you can't have it both ways!

Hello Kev,

Can you tell me more about detuning for specific conditions? Car will be spending most time in malaysia, pretty hot, humid, and our fuel isnt the best either.

I think there's a REVO'd S3 running about in singapore as well?

Thanks in advance!

Your dealers already have stage1 spec. codes for your car and the ability to set it for the fuel quality and conditions. With my previous comment the code on there is slightly different as the tuning is based on a UK car so the settings really need to be looked at, the defaults that a dealer would normally use wouldn't necessarily be relavent. However The S3 software has been out and available in all regions we're in for a while now! Speak to Foo or Andy at Rev Tek... they'll be able to help you out!

Kev

Whats the Map like on 2.0 TDI 8p ?..

Nice...I've met foo from way back, before coming to the UK. Hope he remembers me. It's been a few years.

Hi kev,

I love the 140 engine with software on... great torque all the way through and is a much better (imo) drive overall than the 170 version. We have seen some silly power out of hte 140 engine however the balance between longeviety, fuel consumption and power/torque increases is right running around 185/190bhp with 290/300ftlb. Running at closer to 200bhp we saw a 10mpg drop, running where we do it's like for like and in most conditions slightly better off! You won't regret it.

i do a lot of miles so always looking for a better fuel consumption lol...

how much will it cost to get it to the 185/190 mark?...

thanks Kev

Hi Rabbit22 and Revokev,
I have been following what Rabbit22 has impressivley done to his car in South Africa JHB. I am in CPT and have stage 1 done currently on my S3 with no issues, air filter and Forge DV. My question is, what needs to be done in order to go to Stage 2?
My car was done by Ferroli in CPT (Awsome installer and after service). However we are not in the know here (SA as Rabbit22 will confirm, find out last).

If you could be so kind to advise and i will check with Robbie.

Many thanks in advance.

Have you all the bits? Do you know your ECU ID?

No I don't have ALL the bits but have the monies to buy them, would you reccomend any uprated pump in particular?

I'll get Corey @ Quattronics to make me a turbo back :)

Hi Rabbit222, I posted a question for you and RevoKev above. As i am new on the forum, could you advise me on my question above #24 it would be very much appreciated.

many thanks in advance.

Hey Mack

I'm a fellow Revo'd South African. As far as I know, you at the very least need a downpipe to be able to use the stage 2 map. I'm sure local zorst suppliers can fabricate one (eg. Experience Exhausts, TNT, Stingray, Powerflow, Viper, etc) and I think there are a couple S3's with locally made systems. Best bet though would be Milltek. Up to you and your budget if you want to go just DP, or catback or full turboback. Would suggest a good cold air intake as well like Forge or EVOMS. I've seen 3 stage one S3's (2 Revo and 1 FRC) that made above 200wkW with just stage 1 software and intake. Wheel power before intake ranged from around 180-190kW so intake freed up a fair bit more ponies.

Shout if you want more info and contact details. Also, if you're not on the VWClub forum you may want to check it out and register. We're all there and you'd get plenty local help as well getting to know a good bunch of guys :icon_thumright:

Hi AudimackS3, apologies for the late reply. I spend most of my time on the VWClub forum and manage to pop in here ever so often...not often enough though :) As Scorpius has pointed out, to move onto stage 2 you will at the least need an aftermarket exhaust. I would seriously recommend you fit a Forge intake, best bang for buck mod there is....

If you need to contact me, my cell number is in my sig on the VW Club forum....

hello mr wabbit.......

So did u log ur car on this beautifully chilled night in Gauteng?
I went out, just for the heck of it, and boy was my car hauling.

I have indeed. I have brought my boost down as well as my timing to a very happy medium. The car at this moment in time is as thewusman would say....INSANE!

Many thanks for the feedback and i am on my way over there NOW!

Cheers Bud and many thanks for the feedback.

all the best
