went round a roundabout at the start of a 1.5mile hill duel carage way and had a play, both in outside lane neck and neck all the way to the top i was well happy, went 3 miles at speed limit to a set of lights, we were going different ways so had great pleasure in showing him the tdi badge:yes:

do you think my car has been chipped and how do i find out?

This could be a difficult one to identify what car it actually was.

I'm not sure the Leon Cupra actually existed on an 04 plate.

The Leon Cupra was originally only 180bhp in petrol guise. I have a 52 plate. Then during 2003 a Cupra tdi of 150bhp diesel varient came into being.

Then in 2004 those were rebranded FR.

There was a Cupra R around in 2004, in petrol form. 225bhp - from the 1.8T.

I doubt yours has been chipped, but thats a stab in the dark as i don't know what engine yours has, nor the other car!

the only help i can give is badge just said cupra on a red background and it was not diesel as no smoke what so ever also oval tail pipe with two round bits in it and car was yellow, thats it really

yes could be the one but should i keep with that in a tdi?

Depends on so many variables. The type of 'racing' - 0-60 it should whip you (Cupra R has 6.9secs) but mid range, up and down from 30-70 you've got torque on your side.

With your question above I'd say:

If you've got a 105 then be very impressed.
If you've got a 170, easily, piece of wee.
If you've got a 140, with the torque, it depends on what I said above plus no doubt a few other things.

i have the 140 and i gess by the time we got going it was 30-35ish up to three figers

The Cupra R wasnt trying which is the simple answer. 140PS TDI vs 225PS 1.8T, theres no comparison unless he was in a high gear and was off boost ;)

but ether way i am happy as i changed from a scooby and was hopping i would still have some fun and save some money on fuel

Thats all that matters at the end of day. No point comparing apples to oranges, just enjoy the car you have!

so back to the question how do you tell if a car has been chipped?

If its been chipped? Easy, lift your bonnet and have a look for any modifications. Tuning chips for diesels are usually placed on the commonrail. There will be a box attached at one end, a bit hard to describe unless you know what your looking for.. A map is different, you wont know without hooking it up to an ECU reader such as VAGcom..

ok cheers guys well im going book it in for a remap and will let you what i think of it after
