Hi guys my memory card for my digital camera seems to be damage,How do i retrieve my pictures from the memory card.I need them :keule:

What type of memory card do you have, is it SD, memorystick/memorystick duo? There's ways to recover data. 1. Plug your digital camera to your PC via USB. Your PC will treat the card as an additional disk/storage 2. Use a data recovery software to recover data from the memory card.

I've used a program GetDataBack to recover images from my brother's digital camera, it worked.

Depends on the card, but most cards have software available to recover the card.
What type of card its it?

I know Sandisk do a recovery tool as do sony cos i use both makes of card for various bits of kit.

thanks guys its a sony memory stick pro duo (magic gate) 1 gb.

When you say damaged, in what way?
is it recognised in a camera or a card reader?
Or are the pictures simply not there?

As mentioned there are pieces of software for recovery which are pretty good. Alternatively if nothing works there are companies which specialise in this type of thing but are expensive so it depends on how much it is worth to you.

when i put the card in the card reader,it doesnt recognised it.

Does the camera still read it?

No its doesnt, keep telling me to re insert memory card. When i plug my digital camera into my laptop,it reads the camera itself but not the memory card.

I downloaded some free software off the internet called recovermyphotos, it worked on a Sony memory stick for me.
