Extravagant purchase

And the behaving well cos you're wearing a suit thing is ********. I wear a suit to work every day and it in no way affects the way that i would behave, a thugs a thug no matter how they dress.

I suggest you get out a bit more in the real world my friend.

Sadly, I live in the real world, where people are superficial and shallow. The perfect apology might just be a really fat and ugly girl with a sweet personality. Draw your own conclusions :shutup2:

Btw, been to chinawhites once, never again. Surrounded by Paris Hilton wannabes isnt what I call a nice night out, rather be tanking up on cheap beer with my mates at a houseparty (in t-shirts and shorts if I may add).

Dressing up is just a simple form of respect to the people around you, how hard is it to understand?

Yeah, Chinawhites was a bit ****.

Full of poncy blokes who think you have to dress up to have a good time.

I'll try and remember that when i'm monstering it in Ibiza next month....

In the last 12 months -

Audi S3
Breitlling Aerospace watch
Hugo boss suit
Carbon-Fibre Mountain Bike

No wonder i am skint!

PS Not a purchase but - got married as well, now thats expensive - Thank god the missus has a decent job!

You're probably one of the blokes in suits that was looking down his nose at me when i rocked up at Chinawhites last friday in my jeans trainers and t shirt.

I obviously still looked good enough though to talk my way round the 3 door staff and their strict no trainers rule that they have. Probably cos it ain't what you wear but how you wear it and most places in London recognise that. I'd look worse in a £129.00 suit and a cheap pair of shoes from Next.

I'm with you on this one smitch...
I may dress down...but it's 'shabby chic'. How you wear it says so much more than what you wear.

Oh I don't know.
better than a roof full of suits, surely?

How much respect are you showing by wearing shorts?
I would never be seen dead out in shorts socially! :p
Such a lack of respect...
No siree.

Never mind dress sense, just have a really smug forum sig.

"Public Enemy #1.
Wanted on many forums on two counts of bad behaviour:
1. Daring to criticise the mighty S3 and questioning it's greatness.
2. Upsetting the cotton-wool people who inhabit the above forums"

How to make friends and influence people :Flush:

Lol...do members here have a problem differentiating between a fine restaurant, drinks lounge and a club or a house party? :keule:

Also, are you serious you never wear shorts in public? How in the world do you enjoy the beach then?

Bleh..I'm over this. Apparently dressing up to suit the venue is too much for most to comprehend. The next time any of you have the chance to dine with a special lady in a nice restaurant, please remember to wear your sweet t-shirt, I'm sure you'll make her proud. Because afterall, inner beauty is all that counts, right?

I have no problem differentiating. I just choose to dress how I desire...not as some plonker in a blazer decides I should.

Nope...except when playing football, or cycling.
I don't do beach worshiping...

It's not too much to comprehend, at all.
I have no issues dressing as I see fit...taking into consideration the venue.
I just don't see whay I should be told what to wear because sombody else things they should play God.

And to be honest...when I'm out fine dining with my other half...I couldn't give a **** what the rest of the room are wearing, as I'm too interested in her!...and the very fact that we are together, means she is well aware of how I'm going to dress.
In my world, what you wear has no bearing on how you behave or how the evening goes...maybe I'm just too interested in the person and the food, as opposed to the pomp and ceremony of the surroundings.

At the end of the day...a beautiful girl will look great in whatever she wears...same with a good looking bloke.
Dressing them up in a penguin suit or ballgown does not make them better looking.
You can't polish a ****, after all!

My only extravagant purchase this year so far has been my 20" iMac and a new iPod Touch. I plan on concentrating spending some money on my house getting the outside painted and a new driveway laid.

On the clothing topic, I mostly wear Snickers workwear with labelled polo-shirts to identify my council and my position there in. Think along the lines of purposeful with an under current of scruffy running through the look . Out of work it would be mostly smart casual and comfortable. Certainly the way I dress does not change the way I act and never will.

A few years ago someone in the townhall thought it would be a good idea to dress me up in a suit and get me to drive the Mayor about for a year. Within a week I had nicknamed him Buggerlugs to which he would answer and generally acted like an eejit as normal.

If you wear decent clothes when you go out you cleaning bill will be higher after the waiter spills something in your lap ;)
Our most extravagant purchases include our little girl who was very expensive (IVF) and the first class flights that we have taken to America for the last few years (once the flight has been taken you have nothing to show for it)

Here is a picture of our little girl enjoying the First Class lounge at Frankfurt :)

Now that's money well spent. Knocks all your gadgets and other guff into a cocked hat.

She looks a a complete angel

Feet on the chairs! And in First Class too!!

Lol just teasin' matey :hi:keep saving, I reckon that extravagant purchase will run and run .....

I too have bouncing proof that IVF works, what a lifesaver. Least painful money I've ever spent, luckily it worked first time though as the bills do stack up fast.
But if you pay with a credit card , you get a bit of cash back to help buy prams cots clothes etc etc

I know friends that have paid for to get their boobs done with plastic but never heard of anyone buying a baby with one :)

Probably my watches. Got a thing for Rolex, and Rolex "derived" watches. Recently paid £3,500 for my new Rolex GMT II, to go with my Rolex Milgauss, Tudor Rolex Submariner and a Panerai Power Reserve.

Got my name on the waiting list for a Rolex Daytona and saving for a Blue face white gold Rolex Submariner, but need to get my wedding out the way first. Would also love a classic red face Paul Newman Rolex Daytona, but these are so rare and can go for £250,000.

Good to see others on here with Panerai’s, didn’t know there were so many connoisseurs.

Also love Mont Blanc, and have a jumbo Meisterstuck fountain pen and a Starwalker ball point as well as a Mont Blanc wallet.

Damn...some people cant even read "I'm over this". Seems like I'm making a futile argument when the audience dont even bother reading my posts, and keep posting what they "feel is right". Just because you choose to dress however you like does not mean others in the same setting nor the owner(s) of the establishment share the same view. The choice to dress up is the same as the choice to visit such establishments, and insisting that you are too special to follow certain rules or norms is just selfish.

Wont bother making any points now, just to answer Lottie's questions.

I'm not ignorant of my surroundings whoever I'm dining with, because if that's the case, I can just as easily focus on her and we'll dine in McDonalds. I cook at home when I want private time with my gf as well. Just because I drew up an example of my bad experience, you seem to be assuming I only bring lady friends to these "snobby places".

It's my friend's house party, where everybody is wearing casual and most of us in shorts or 3/4 length pants get to sit by the pool. Just because I said I wear shorts at a friends party, please dont assume I walk around in them in public.

Done and out.

I thought you were 'over this' ??????

Because certain members are still responding directly and asking me questions? Just like your goodself?

I can see it now, in my near future, the most extravagant purchase of them all : "Comprehension lessons, how to read and ignore forum messages."

how to read and ignore forum messages."

Take it all with a pinch of salt and continue to do what makes you happy in life.

There you go mate. Saved ya a fortune. You can thank me later :)

Im not... I was going with the definition of extravagant:

–adjective
1. spending much more than is necessary or wise; wasteful: an extravagant shopper.
2. excessively high: extravagant expenses; extravagant prices.
3. exceeding the bounds of reason, as actions, demands, opinions, or passions.
4. going beyond what is deserved or justifiable: extravagant praise

:moa:

LOL@you being nice! You have to keep it up tho... one day doesnt count! ;)

Ohhhhhh right... sorry... didnt realise we were utilising the 'i took it back' rule! My bad.
