take your Custom-Code remap and sit in the corner :eyebrows:

has anyone uploaded any pics for the day yet......

Notice im ignoring the ridicule:p

:yahoo:

when I beat Jojo at the sprint I thrust my arm out the window after going over the finish line and nearly tore the ****** off.....victory is painful

Steve, my figs came up 235BHP and 270Ib torque.....the graph suggested that the ECU was over compensating for boost so the line was squiggled loads...... thats my excuse anyways haha....

Jay came in with 250BHP and 271Ib

Kitey ended up with 230BHP....... he's spending the rest of the weekend in the garage with a magnifying glass:p

seems like a common trend this.....

everyone claims that a mapped S3 makes around 260-270, yet they never seem to manage it.

at a recent SCN RR day I went to, loads of mapped LCR's were only making 230-235bhp, despite some fairly costly mods......

Seems odd considering my ko3S is putting out 230bhp and 290lbft with a dead fuel pump.....

Why do the ko4 cars so often fall short of the claims?

Thats it , you just have to take the tuners claims with a pinch of salt most of the time.

Take yesterday , the remapped 8P's just about made there claimed power , but what the tuners don't tell you , is the Std S3's put's out up to 290bhp. :)

It is a little surprising about the bhp on remapped 8L's - Torque figures are excellent though and that equates to drivability:sm4:

I dont think the 4wd system helps the figures which would lead me to believe that you will have more of an accurate reading.... im sure if you put a KO3s on an S3, you would not see the same figures that you have now.......thats for sure......

KO3S'S ARE THE WAY FORWARD,LOL,nice Prawn

Prawn it sounds like you have a wee chip on your shoulder about S3's

haha, not really, but all the ones I see on the road seem to have an issue with me!

Half the reason I make the comments, is because whenever I'm driving home from work and I come across an S3, it always tries to race me when I'm happily minding my own business!

Needless to say, they often get a shock!

yea me too!

It'd be a refreshing surprise to come up against an S3 that deserves the badge.....

Prawn, i do think that the downsides and benefits are obvious with both our cars........ your gearing for example....although i would bet vital parts of my anatomy that less than 5% of S3's will be remapped....until you have done a 1/4 mile stint against a remapped car ill sit on the fence

What i will say is i lifted my handbrake 1 notch when the misus was driving the other day and its fair to say she crapped herself on full acceleration:yahoo:, this car is so different without the haldex....would love to see IF there are any differences in figures...as said in a previous post...i guess not but be good to know

I was doing alright with your comments Tim until you mentioned the missus and driving your car in the same sentence
Nice one Leon, like doing it for charity

Im really disappointed with my revo remap.......my car doesnt feel that quick at all!!!

Scoobs, it may be because your map is only useable within a certain rev range..... you could come across to the dark side, have a spin in my CC next time your over sheff way :)

CC, CC, CC, CC, CC..... comon haha

oooh this isnt going to end well......!
i have a REVO that seems to work all throughout.

Now whats that got to do with cars????? ;)

Went to the Regal RR day over the weekend and basically got the same results as you 1animal1 235bhp (i have the printout but need to scan it).
I have the same phase 1 Customcode as you so did you work out why it was down on horsepower?? if so let me know so i can check the same thing. My car seems to drive ok but maybe i am not looking in the right place.

Seems weird that all our phase 1's (me, you n Themanthatcan) are not putting out the quoted bhp and torque we were expecting from the remap.

just posted a thread asking customcode for their advice on the matter

Na im afraid not mate, mine had a distinctive choppy graph for which ive changed the MAF, temp sender, DV and checked certain pipes so far, need to do a proper pressure check when i get time..... be interesting to see CC's response

Yeah just seems weird that we are all not getting the right sort of figures after the remap. Too much of a coincidence for my liking that we infact got the same results of 235bhp.

Will scan in my graph when i get home later so you can see if it compares to what you got.

if you wanna see what i asked CC go and check out the thread i started in their section on the forum plus if you wanna add any comments pleaase do as the more users reporting an issue may push them into looking for an answer quicker.

i had mine re-mapped at santapod by midland performance however in the last 12 months it seems to have lost it, dont know how but seriously have been going through a phase of powerloss!

Tim,

Have you had your car vag-com'd since finding out your car is uderpowered?? if so do you think you could post your results in the thread i created in the Custom Code section.

As i am not gonna be able to get my car tested in the near future. Custom Code have asked to see any results from vag-com to see if they can work out our issues.

I have been to a couple of rr days with the TT and i believe the 4 wheel drive rollers have trouble with the haldex system (only really noticeable when there is more bhp than standard).

If you went straight to a 2 wheel roller and disconnected the haldex i'm sure you would get a much higher figure.

I'm guessing that part way through the power curve there is a big dip?:uhm:

There was technical theories behind it on the TT forum but it makes sense because the LCR's are getting the correct bhp outputs with the same maps as the S3's!

Also at the same rr a Subaru and RS4 B7 which both don't have Haldex systems, reached expected output figures.

Regards,

Leon

Leon,my car had the same figures on different rollers a month later so we are still wondering where the powers gone?

well here is my printout from the rolling road day over the weekend any input would be appreciated....

Also if anyone in the southampton area has vag com and wouldn't mind checking my car for errors somewhen that would be useful too.

Cheers

looks like i will be asking a favour from someone soon

Hey Bob,

Looks like we can both do each other a favour at the same time then! Sorry I've not been in contact about meeting up but I've recently split up with my gf and moved back to my parents (Hythe) so everything has been a bit up in the air.

I've got VAG-Com so if you can find out from CC what logs they need to see, we can scan your car for errors and pull together some logs for them to look at. I'm free Thursday after work if you're around? The roads around Hedge End aren't exactly the best for logging results tho as you need to do some high speed runs from around 30 to 80mph. Things are much quiter over my way so if you fancied popping over one evening then we could sort you out, and I could finally have a ride in your car!
