Ha ha, this thread makes me laugh, I lived at 'home' till 28!! Why because it was cheap and I could enjoy life to the full. I now have my own successful business, my own house, a wife and two kids, and change new cars every 6 months or so and life is just perfect, and Ive just turned 35.

A blinged M3 is not for me, but I certainly would buy one without a BMW warranty - they are a very expensive nightmare to upkeep, if something goes wrong.

At 23 you should enjoy life and ignore the hosuing market still it stabalises, Oh and dont buy thet M3 without a warranty, you will regret it
 
Just ignore the negative comments Jux. The E46 M3 is a great car, my dad has had one for the last few years and i've driven it lots. Its in a different league to the S3 (oh no, that comment is bound to get some backs up around here!!:angrymod:)

only problem my dad had on his M3 was the gearbox died at 50,000 miles, which is surprising because he doesnt drive it hard. It was under warranty. You know the car a bit from your friend so thats a good start. May be worth looking into warranty direct or something for piece of mind? Is completely up to you.

its not like you havent driven/owned the S3, you have, and its the right choice for you so enjoy it. Peace guys!

No, don't ignore the negative comments. People are going to have negative opinions and they're as justified as the positive ones. A forum allows freedom of speech and opinion i'm afraid. If you don't like it don't start a thread. Quite simple :thumbsup:.

I doubt it, you'd be foolish to think an M3 was in the same league as an S3, 4wd small turbo engined hot hatch vs rwd 6 cylinder 3.2 saloon, totally different.

what I mean is dont take them to heart! i.e. dont let them get under your skin. Sure, everyone can have an opinion, +ve or -ve, not saying they can only post the good ones.

Drove a 130i for a month or so last year. Awful thing - like riding a pogo stick with a rucksack full of 2p coins on your back.
 
absolutely. In terms of hot hatches, the S3 is sitting at the top of that class. The E46 M3 was pipped by the new RS4 (but then again, the S4 was made to be a rival for the E46 M3), but it looks like the new M3 is a bit better overall than the new RS4.

I want a new shape RS4 as my next car!!:thrashi:

Any idea what it will look like? I've heard rumours it'll be a v6 3.0TFSI
 
Mmmmmm.....i dont like it either! looks crap, ive seen some of the new a4s flying about and they look awful also!!!
 
I like it, but not loads. It needs smaller wingmirrors and bigger arches. Not a huge fan of the new RS6 either, but it looks alright. They might grow on me.

996 turbo is next on the list anyway! :)

Man, the more i look at it, the more that picture is a big let down. Surely they have learned that from past mistakes?? The RS4 needs to be bold, with massive arches, and a snow plough for a front end, with a sculpted rear spoiler that changes the rear.... to make it distinguishable from the rest of the range, thats what makes the current RS4 so desirable....

ok, im exagerating a bit, but that pic is far too conservative for me. Its not enough to add Sprint paint as an option, stick on the badges, and slap on the current RS4 wheels.... WHAT A COPPOUT!! :sob:
Im soooo ****** off with Audi after googling that pic :)

Once remapped the S3 is just as quick in a straight line, and probably quicker point to point in this country. But the M3 does have a lot more space and a bigger boot, the S3 is a bit cramped.

I ont know about space, the back seat in the m3 are not as spacious as the one in the back of the s3
 
I meant I would be after a current shape RS4 in a few yrs (as new as possible i.e. the later ones).

RE That "RS4" the fact that file name says "render" in it would indicate (to myself at least) that's it's just someone's mock up.

Speaking of RS4's , was having my oil change today and there was a dealer approved RS4 in, 06 plate , 21k on the clock 37K there starting to come down now.:ninja:

I think it's going to be some time yet before we see anything other than renders as far as the B8 RS4 is concerned. There's a guy over on one or two of the other forums called Quinty, and he's been turning out some pretty good stuff recently. Here are his RS4 efforts:

Lee, This RNSe lands tomorrow, im not going to be around when it ldoes as we'll be having fun at Prosport but at some point could I pop over with the unit in so we can clear the errors and activate all the stuff i need to with your Magic lead?
