UPDATE!! just emailed Jim about 5mins ago regarding price and release date!! I mentioned there could be up to 10 of us wanting one and how much discount we will recieve!!!

Clach, im guessing its the same lead as a vagcom, so it will be a case of finding a mounting spot (air vent) then trying to run the cable down to the diagnostic port under the right hand side of the dash (near bonnet release) Plugging it in, and off you go!!!

Ive also asked about how future proof it is and if the software can be updated!!!

Looks like a fairly decent group buy then lads!!! Jim said there £170 standard kit with 10% discount!! The mounting system for the air vent will be an addition cost though!
 
guys,

just recieved mine fom jim, will get cracking on it this week and will get the pics up for you,
will be going for the airvent to start and may try the cup holder button as anouther option,

this will be out really quick, the other pod i did on the tread took a whill due to alot of fabrication and working away. (sorry josh)

Top man! i think either the right hand, of the center vents or the cup holder would be good!
 
ive done one in the centre before (just a boost gauge) and it did look quite lost,

i understand people want to use the drivers vent so thought the cupholder would be no real loss,

Sounds good Nev!!! as you said, who ever really uses the cup holder?? lol. Keep us posted and get some pics up!!
 
I don't have a cupholder, but it might fill the blank slots in the dash where the heated seats switches are supposed to go, and where i presume the cupholder in located in the facelift version...interested to see the pics...How big is the item?
 
Depending on the cost of the unit including a mount I could well be interested in this. I'm one of the few who uses their cup holder though so would be looking to mount it in the vent.
 
Would be quite interested in this as well. But i'd need the vent mount as well...i use the cup holder for my phone

That is great news. the first prototype is with Nev, he is the person working on the Leon, S3, Mk4, I expect the first batch of production PCBs with me in the next two to three weeks, then it will be down to Nev to come up with a good mounting solution.

The names on the list just gives us an idea of how many people want one. I can imagine there will be a few that pull out when we see the final product due to lack of funds etc...!!
 
Yeah don't take me as a definate Yes as security tints are the next thing on my list after my little incident the other night! It's a nice device but as I've got VAG-Com already it would be a "nice-to-have"
