Would a new S3 share the same engine as the TTS? I understood that the S3 engine was uprated over the normal 2.0T. Am I correct in saying that there are now four variants of the 2.0T engine; 200PS(BPY) 265PS (BPY), 200PS (CCTA) and 272PS(CCTA)?

Interesting thread this. When I was at my dealers the other day, there was a black TT-S roadster and it looked pretty damn good with the half red leather! The inerior looked like a nice place to be. Now given the choice of the roadster and the coupe, I'd always go for the coupe. Not a convertible person. I've got a test drive with the TT-S next thursday so it'll be interesting to see what I think of the S tronic box. After reading various threads, I'd say that its a bit like marmite. Some people love it, others hate it.
I'm not thinking of buying one (at least I dont think I am), I'm just curious to see what its like.

Not really sure, I was concentrating more on the noise the 4 pipes outback were making, sounded good though.
Face lift S3 doesn't have 272bhp though, still 262bhp or whatever it is.

I would of thought so,the S3 engine was uprated internally over the 200bhp 20TFSI engine when the S3 was launched in 2006.

I think he's wrong there mate , a Std S3 will make " more " than the 262bhp book figures.
The Std S3 map will still be 265ps
Mines making 280bhp.
The S3 has always been the poor relation on paper to the TT and now TT-S , but in the real world there the same.

More than 4 iirc, you've got 2.0t in the tt, golf (ed30, gti) and some skodas or other members of the vag family I presume?
AXX, BPY, BWA , CAWB, BZC...
BHZ in the 8P S3 as well.
Literature I have seen states it remains at 265ps as previously stated.On V-Power think they run in excess of 280bhp.
