Just wondering if someone who has done the retrofit can post some pictures, as a standard car has them flush with the bumper.

If you retrofit them do they still sit flush or do they stick out a bit?

And where is the best place to buy them vag parts?

I have had the aftermarket ones fitted. These particular ones that Audi supply (below B) do sit proud about 1.5mm. They work in exactly the same way as the factory fitted versions.

[ A ] These are the Factory fitted version.

[ B ] The aftermarket ones supplied by Audi. (Which arn't Audi parts).

DO NOT buy them from Audi though as the exact ones they supply for £200 can be bought for £45!

Whichever you buy - I'm sure they will be sitting proud slightly as there isn't another way to make them stay in the bumper as they would go straight through otherwise! I think Audi choose these to supply as they are the most subtle appearance wise on the market. The Original Audi sensors fit within the pre-moulded bumper especially for these sensors... I looked into going down this route when I was replacing my rear bumper... it was coming out at around £450 before the bumper was sprayed.

oops... my mistake... I meant to put £75.
BUT have found them here for £69.99 delivered.
(Cobra Parkmaster 0158 or 0168)

Can the front parking sensors be fitted as well ? Do I wait and find a bumper with the sensors fitted in a breakers ? Is it a simple matter of hooking up the sensors to the same ECU as the rear parking sensors (OEM which are already installed in my Audi)

Try a search on Tyresmoke forum, I'm not a member but it looks an interesting place! Hence why I am still up at 2 am lol! I was looking for threads on retro fitting the rear sensors, but theres lots of threads on fitting front sensors too.

sorry to bring that back up, but as the site with teh write up is down, i was wondering fi anybody had this write up saved by any chance. looking to fit them asap but havent got a write up...

I had Hazzy Dayz do mine, they arrived, took off the back bumper, drilled 4 holes in it, inbstalled pre-colour coded sensors and then connected the self contained beepr and control unit into an existing bit of the wiring loom in the boot.

The whole job took about an hour.

Total cost was £300 I think.

I also had them fit cruise as well.

Audi do it for about the same money.

i've already bought the parking sensors, plan on doing it myself, cant really afford to fork out 300 pounds for something i know i can comfortably do myself... just needed to know how to remove the rear bumper without breaking everything lol

but cheers anyway!

i bought those exact ones from the same fella... but i got mine sprayed to the same colour as the car as he did it for free... i thought instead of pulling everything apart in the boot and rear section of the car, if i had some definite instructions on how to pull the bumper off it might save some time.

that guy is quite good with the parking sensors, hes very quick with postage...

Sorry mrjheeta - I've had a hunt around for a pdf of the instructions but I must have deleted it.
