I'm torn between the following four colours... what's your thoughts?
(see Poll)

Please give your reasons for you choice

A little more specific please? What car? Ordering brand new?

For what it's worth, I think colour is a personal choice and you should get what you like, not what a bunch of strangers on the Internet think. Tread carefully with white as it's just a fad at the moment, but you can't really go wrong with the others. Black cars are always popular and easy to sell on.

I disagree white is a fad, it's popular again, i think it suits modern car design, doesn't work on a lot of base model cars and currently is quite a brave choice where the others are safe. I have had so many black & silver cars I was torn between white & red, went for white in the end as i wanted it to stand out, which it does

I like red, purely because its not often seen on an Audi. 90% I see are black.

Looking at an A3 2.0TDI S-Line.
I've owned two in the past, as well as a A4.
First A3 and A4 were black. My 2nd A3 was Misano Red.
Love both colours however, as DLS55 says, White does stand out in a crowd :)

What car ?

If I bought again i'd get the custom/lifestyle paint and try and get them to do it BMW Sepang bronze

Voted black from the 4 in the poll.. but if they could do Sepang, that'd be off the hook! :)

When I was ordering a A3 Tdi company car I asked if they could do Porsche rivera blue and the reply was, they could do that but couldn't guarantee a perfect match as it wasn't an Audi colour but they would do it.

Really glad I didn't go ahead with the order in the end, don't think I could have lived with that colour on a day to day basis.

I voted black but thats just because I always buy black as I think it's the nicest looking. IMHO of course...

Although the white S3's and M3's look stunning, along with the new VW rocco, ed30, TT's...

looks great on the porker but like you say, could you live with it everyday on an A3! the colour goes with the style and the era of the 911, makes me want to go buy one

An A3 company car... I wish I had that choice. I wish I had a company car! :noway:

Voted black, you say you love it and its different from red which was your last car.

I would imagine a fairly high percentage of users on this forum are company car owners.

It's not all it's cracked up to be!

Owning expensive new cars in general isn't all it's cracked up to be. Just a lot of worry, obsessive behaviour and expense! We must be sadists.

As for the colour... Be brave and go Ibis white with the optik pack. Looks the biz.

Voted Black , fastest colour , looks FIT when clean and polished/wax , but a bitch to keep clean and every mark shows up.

It's a real love/hate thing with black , it's like being married , it's not all rosey , but you get the rewards if you put the hard work in.

Have to agree Ibis looks the biz - toyed with it but (i) mine's an SE not S line / S3, and (ii) couldn't get to look at one and it's a bit of a gamble at that sort of money!

That BMW Sepang colour is dreadful. Normally the sort of colour you see on Volvos driven by old men.

I think you have to see it in the flesh to appreciate it properly.

I've liked it for a few years after seeing this golf wearing it:

Can't say i'm too keen on that Sepang colour either. I'm sure British Leyland used to make the Austin Princess in that colour in the 70's...

Don't go Ibis! Far too popular now LOL

Red is the way forward, not many cars in red and looks really nice.

I don't think the front end of a standard A3 looks as good in Ibis as it does on a S3.

yeah, stay away from ibis! Too many around! ;)

I wouldnt have chosen white on anything other than an S3 in all honesty, and having now ownded a white one, I won't be having white next. Unlike black, which is a colour you can love over and over again.

I like red for others, wouldnt have one myself tho.

Wolfblane. Please tell me where you got those wheels, or if I can buy them from you.. Cash waiting!!

He he.. sorry the wheels are not for sale at the moment.
They are italian made replicas a bit darker silver, looks realy nice. But they rub a bit in the back as they are 8,5x19 et 48

FWIW, I'm getting heartily sick of black again, already.
No denying it's lovely, but my god it takes some amount of looking after.
I'm not lazy when it comes to car care but, at the same time, I get sick of washing cars every other day.
I've already decided my next car will be some sort of metallic gunmetal grey.
Not as boring as silver, but not as high maintenance as black.

Audi Quartz Grey and BMW Space Grey are colours i've been considering. Really do hide the dirt a treat...

Where did you get tehm Wolfblane?

Many thanks

I had the option of a grey D3.
Not sure of the exact name.
My wife put me off it, saying I'd tire of it quicker than black.
The effort I'm having to expend keeping my black car clean is ample punishment for listening to her.:keule:

Black is far from the only colour which looks brilliant when clean... My Avus silver shines like a muthatrucker when it's just waxed. Infact all grey cars look fantastic when they're clean... The colour actually shows off the lines of the car better than black. Although no grey/silver is as sexy as black if we're honest.
