Hey all

Fitted my Forge Motorsport DV today, install was pretty straight forward following the instuctions in the box.

I managed to package it in nicely using the EVOMS Intake heatshield as a good mounting place for the Solenoid..

First impressions are great, car feels less hesitant in the mid range and pulls a little harder top end too, car idles great and zero problems with running over the last 50 miles that I just drove the car..

The biggest improvement is the reduced spool time, both between gear changes and when jumping on the power in gear. This really makes the car much quicker to respond to throttle inputs and as a result improves acceleration..

A really worth while modification for all S3's in my opinion, especially for those cars running with re-maps and any other engine modifications..

Nice :) Do you get that "psssssssssshhhhh" noise with this one too?
Is it needed to keep the engine cover off after the installation?
How much was it?

Ah ok I see. So does it make a change to the sound at all?

I read lots of mixed opinions about DVs. Some say it improves spool up etc, some took it off after a while, because there was no improvement at all.

Its is, It was anodized black as a one off piece, im told its the only one of its kind..

The noise is very slightly different to the OEM DV, the only reason you can hear it at all is because of the intake that I have fitted to my car.

The difference in subtle, but for sure as the power and boost level increases so will the improvements of having the Forge valve over the OE piece..

And yeah the reason for no engine cover is because of the EvoMs intake kit that I have fitted.

I bought mine almost 1 year ago and never used it :)

Thanks Jonnyc for the review, i will install it soon and of course i'll make a lot of logs with VAG COM to make sure everything is going well ;)

Are you still racing? I thought there was a yellow 991 (EssThree) that threw the gauntlet down :sly:
 
Hey

Yea im still up for having a go against a couple of the cars that we mentioned in the other thread..

Only problem is that I have just spent £1300 on a new Sachs racing clutch and flywheel which is working excellent at the moment, but im not keen on launching the car after seeing the state of the old parts.. As you would imagine the 4WD puts huge strain on them parts when launching the car!

Going to have to see what they think to a 5mph roll or something like that..

I reckon if you launch it lightly or start with a roll then boot it, you should be ok, as I will still be spinning my **** off if the other lane anyway.. Ha ha..

L6ON, i've got 3 runs, so will run against whatever to be fair, really don't mind.. But a Porsche, RS4 and handicapped S3 would be nice.. lol

Wetness, mmmm...should make the 1/4 even more interesting for the S3's
 
I never trust weather reports for anything over 2 days in front. I used to work in a job where weather was paramount to production and I lived my life by metcheck LoL.
 
We'll have to wait and see, the weather changes all teh ****** time!

I'd love to have a race, but I suck balls when it comes to standing starts :)
