Does the new Ipod Nano work in the Ipod Connector on the Audi??

As the title really, I assume the new ipod Nano will work in the Audi Ipod doc, but can anyone confirm just to be sure?

Yes, my colleague uses his Nano in his A3 sportback.

I can confirm both the itouch and iphone work with the dension gateway 100 kit in my A3

Afraid not, best way to get track names is to get an RNS-E. I am not sure if the phatnoise shows track names. Try the search function and you will find the answer.

Getting an RNS-E does not mean it will show track names with the ipod, but it will show track names if using SD cards in the RNS-E

I take it the iPod connection in conjunction with the RNS-E will not give track names. Would be great if it could.

Yeah sorry an RNS-E and yes talking about SD slots. Fitted my RNS-E a couple of weeks ago and love it, just in process of putting music on SD cards. (thanks to Issac Hunt for supplying)
I still have the dension ipod dock and think I will keep this as it does hold a lot more music and easier to sync with itunes.

Is it an easy process to get a decent, clear list of track/album names on the RNS-E? Do you have to mess around with playlists (i.e. generate a playlist for each album or something like that)? What program do you use for managing your MP3 library, ripping CDs etc.?

I take your point on the price, but as it will be a company car the price doesn't bother me too much! However, just for reference, would there be any Audi warranty issues etc. if choosing to upgrade later? Plus, where can the RNS-E unit be purchased from and who can install them?

I currently have exactly the same iPod system as Audi in my Golf GTI, so I know what the limitations of it are and I've got used to them really. I'm sure the Dension has a few advantages, but I'm not keen on it being dashboard mounted and having to worry about removing my iPod everytime I leave the car.

Basically I agree with Mattandrew (by the way thanks for the cards, work great) don't pay list price for the RNS-E, fit it yourself later for about £5-600. As he says folders work fine, but are you using a PC or a mac? If it's a mac, I've just found a great app that automatically creates a playlist for each album in iTunes, and a script that will automatically copy the selected playlist, and all it's tracks onto a mounted card. It's just made my life a hell of a lot easier.

I'm using a PC. I found a similar app called RNS-E MP3 Manager, but haven't had chance to try it out yet. It's not iTunes based, but can rip, copy to SD and create playlists on the SD.
