As the title really, I assume the new ipod Nano will work in the Audi Ipod doc, but can anyone confirm just to be sure?
Thanks

they all do from 3G on, except the iphone varients I believe??
Does the Dension show track names on the headunit?
Get what and RNS-E? Unless of course you mean "an RNS-E" and you're talking about the MP3 card slots.Afraid not, best way to get track names is to get ? and rns-e.

Thanks for clarifying.Yeah sorry an RNS-E and yes talking about SD slots. Fitted my RNS-E a couple of weeks ago and love it, just in process of putting music on SD cards. (thanks to Issac Hunt for supplying)
I still have the dension ipod dock and think I will keep this as it does hold a lot more music and easier to sync with itunes.
Thanks for clarifying.
I'm very tempted to order my A3 with RNS-E and iPod connection, but plan to use the SD card slots as well to take advantage of track names. Is it an easy process to get a decent, clear list of track/album names on the RNS-E? Do you have to mess around with playlists (i.e. generate a playlist for each album or something like that)? What program do you use for managing your MP3 library, ripping CDs etc.?
I take your point on the price, but as it will be a company car the price doesn't bother me too much! However, just for reference, would there be any Audi warranty issues etc. if choosing to upgrade later? Plus, where can the RNS-E unit be purchased from and who can install them? How much is the RNS-E list price?? I know its a lot! A lot of people order the standard concert (its now double din) and upgrade to the RNS-E later its far cheaper.
I wouldn't bother with the audi ipod connection as it blocks out the use of the ipod and you have to use the first five playlists. I would fit the Dension Gateway 100 is cheaper than the audi one and far more functional, you can still use the ipod to find songs unlike the audi one.
Regarding playlists etc on RNS-E someone on here will help better than I can but so far I have just used folders, I made a new folder ie Radio 1 then a sub folder Live Lounge then copied the music from itunes into the folder

I'm using a PC. I found a similar app called RNS-E MP3 Manager, but haven't had chance to try it out yet. It's not iTunes based, but can rip, copy to SD and create playlists on the SD.Basically I agree with Mattandrew (by the way thanks for the cards, work great) don't pay list price for the RNS-E, fit it yourself later for about £5-600. As he says folders work fine, but are you using a PC or a mac? If it's a mac, I've just found a great app that automatically creates a playlist for each album in iTunes, and a script that will automatically copy the selected playlist, and all it's tracks onto a mounted card. It's just made my life a hell of a lot easier.
