Symphon1 Question

Hi all, my first thread on this site!

Ive just bought an 06 A3 S Line Sportback, i want to change my stock head unit, now, having done this before, and being an aircraft electrician, i know my red wire from my blue but can someone please help! Why have i got 2 aeriels coming from the back of my symphony 1 (None bose)???

What does that fakra aeriel do? when i dissconnect it the radio still picks up the station, but when i dissconnect the normal aeriel it doesn't pick up the station!?

Also what can i do about the lack of dimming?

I think it's supposed to give better reception on either midwave or longwave, can't remember which. Does anyone actually listen to anything other than FM or DAB?
Dimming is handled by the CANBUS so you'll just have to live without it.
