Brighton, last week.

I love the place when I was there a few nights ago, so spending some time there during the day sounds like a good idea.

IMGP5170.jpg

Sis told me I'm "outdated" now, apparently it's okay for guys to carry handbags, in striking colors too!
It makes me wonder, how do douches like that get girls (his partner was pretty hot I may add)? Am I wrong all this while? do I need to get the bag for myself, and not the girl?

IMGP5171.jpg

Moving on

IMGP5370.jpg

dont drink and drive

IMGP5372.jpg

But who could resist such a wonderful view/day/setting?

IMGP5376.jpg

It really was a nice day out.

IMGP5379.jpg

The bar I went to, just outside of bath heading towards somewhere...

IMGP5381.jpg

Speed limits in the uk boogles my mind really. Big 3 lane road with fencing against pedestrians and whatnot have a 20mph speed limit. This 1.5 lane wide bidirectional country road full of stones/rubbles is rated at the national speed limit for a single carriage way, 60mph.

IMGP5397.jpg

IMGP5389.jpg

more green

IMGP5398.jpg

IMGP5399.jpg

trying to be arty with teh ***.

IMGP5401.jpg

gridlock on the way home, another accident. So I spent a lot of time looking at the underside of the lexus IS220d rear underbody.

Let me know if any of you want any pic in full res.

Now I'm fully warmed up for the scotland trip...cant wait actually.

Credit for the stitching the 2 panorama pics goes to brdman from awot.

Disclaimers :
Traffic was standstill when I took the pictures.
I did not drink and drive, I drank 1 pint, went walking about and had a meal before driving.

Down my neck of the woods Bowfer, I'll keep an eye out for you. Although thinking about it your not planning on driving down are you? There's an airport at southampton and bournemouth...

I love Bath, that Thermae bath spa thing is well worth £20.

Was tempted, but I arrived mid noon and there's so much to see, so I passed.

Will definitely do it if I go there again. Suppose I have to bring my own towels and a new set of clothes? What about soap?

Are you getting commission from the Brighton & Bath Tourist Boards?

Nah, but it really is nice, I was supposed to have a weekend away there last week but my nan is in hospital for what seems like the end of the road.

Sadly nope, wont reject any extra income if you are offering though.

Members from the other audi forum I visit often post up trip pictures, since having a car is mainly about going places, isnt it? Seems like it's not common practice here.

I remember an old aunt of mine was visiting London a few years back with my Grandmother (her sister) and while waiting on a bus at one of the big bus stations they were looking around (as you do) and commenting on how big the busses were (compared to at home) and how they had all the mod cons based on the signs in the window. There was one with TV & Video, another with reclining seats and a toilet and that sort of thing. My aunt then commented that "that bus over there has a bath on it".

They don't get out much. They were also in a restaurant where there was a sign saying "help yourself to the salad bar". Needless to say, they did! I dread to think what will happen if they ever pull up at a McDonalds and see the sign saying "drive through window".

I guess we don't get out much! Although I have rather enjoyed the photos of the recent S3 european trips - and also your bath\brighton trip.

I have a painter in painting my whole house at the minute. I can post a video of it drying if anybody is interested.

I'm afraid I am driving, yes.
I'm thinking I should be able to do it in 8 hours(ish).
We did look at flying, but the cost was mental, plus we'd only have to hire a car once we got there.
The kids (daughter 5 and niece 8) will have DVD's and Nintendos etc.
The wife (5 months pregnant) is finding my car increasingly uncomfortable though, especially getting in/out, so god knows.

You know when you think something seems like a good idea and "come on, it'll be fun" ??:keule:

Fly your wife there with a kid to keep her company, then you drive down with another. Swap kids on the return trip, job done!

This is the difference I find between my bike and my car.
The car is for going to places when you have a reason to go.
The bike is just for going out, with no purpose/destination to it at all, other than the fun of it.

You don't have kids, I'm guessing..:icon_thumright:
Believe me, it's preferable to have two kids keeping each other company, than to have one expecting you to entertain them.:nyah:

Dont disagree totally, used to go on many late night cruises with my gf for the fun of it. Not as exciting or involving as a bike, but there's something nice and comfy about being a "cager" and listening to music watching the landscape pass by :)

A bike is definitely on the long term shopping list though.

You dont need anything apart from shorts. They give you a robe as you go in and all the spa rooms and shower rooms, all those steam rooms too..hmmmm,

You wont need a shower beleive me :D

Seeing as this is a rambling thread, I looked at the IS220 Lexus.
Nice motor, out of this world stereo option (Mark Levinson, £1500!)
Terribly high Co2 rating for their diesel engine though, way out of touch with everyone else.

I test drove a IS220d before buying the audi, coming from a golf 2.0 tdi, and to be honest I think It wa the worst driving modern diesel car I have driven. It was shocking.

Shame because they don't look bad in sport trim.

Yes, see this around Bath all the time (being my home town and all that). This guy had the wheels in black prior to them becoming red which i thought looked amazing, much better than red but hey he has balls and its different. I last saw him coming out of sainsburys over a ramp which i think he was having a bit of trouble.
Glad you enjoyed Bath anyways fella

sat1983, nice pics, now I'm tempted to go visit my friend at La Rochelle (french coastal town) again.

Wills, yup, the guy does have balls. If I were him I wouldnt stop now, the car could use a nice bodykit. Wheels like those are loud enough aready, no point holding back on the body.
