A3 Facelift Brochure In Pdf Format Full Specification Models Etc

Just noticed on the S3 dimensions page they have the wrong front end shown..............typical of Audi to muck up spec details!

Dont like the chome trim on the s-line fog lights at least there isnt any chrome on the outside door handles like the cabrio.

What happened to the no-smoking pack option? Can't see it in the brochure..

Interesting - it's not shown in the A3 Cabriolet brochure either. Perhaps with the no smoking legislation they have decided not in include it as standard!

Like Dave says the TV option is missing from the brochure for the RNS-E (its in the A3 cab one) and also the magnetic ride option.

Could this be a first draft with some things missing?

I'll have to revisit the dealer as some of the options I have specced are much cheaper in this brochure!!

Just noticed the rain and light sensor pack also includes the door mirrors as auto dimming too, you have to spec them extra last year along with the pack.

Aha so it is!

Skipped that section over quick as no need to spec different wheels on my S3, its hiding fairly well at the bottom!

Just as I suspected, still no sign of the standard non xenon headlight unit. I can only imagine it looks very, very bad, that's why Audi refuse to show it in a single press photo.

Or alternatively they are using the photos to push the new LED DRL units. Shame they are only available on some models.

That's what I was looking for too. I also would be interested to see the visual difference betweem the S-line and Sport models.

The 3.2 quattro has been discontinued from Model Year 2009. So has the 2.0TFSI quattro manual, replaced by the 2.0TFSI quattro S-Tronic. There will also be a 2.0TDI (170PS) quattro manual, probably from September 2008.

So when is the last time I caqn buy a new 3.2? I love mine but now not sure what to get.

I'm off to Germany and Switzerland for a couple week next Sunday. I shall have to call in to a few of their dealers and see if they have any new models in the showrooms. If so I'll take some pictures.

It depends if the Audi plant order books have already closed. The 2009 Model Year production starts on 1 July 2008.

Mine gets built w/c 1st Aug!

The 1st July 2008 is when the 09 model year VIN numbers start from. I know the Ingolstadt plant has a close down for holidays around July / August time and this is when the production lines etc usually change over from one model to the next. Perhaps they will build a full months worth of cars for their home market first!

As long as mine starts on 1st Aug I'll be happy!

Of course that could be the first day back after their holiday - never know what might happen. Only joking!!!

Dealer said it would arrive a few weeks after this date so I'm hanging on!

I do believe that the A3 are built in the Brussel plant in Belgium also.

Yes that's true, but I think the Brussels plant only builds Sportbacks. Easy to tell which plant any particular car was build in. If the 11th digit in the VIN is an A it was built in Ingolstadt and if its a B it was built in Brussels.

Well, it took those idiots 1 month to produce a PDF file (still not available on the website, it took 3 weeks to post a notice there), and I can see a few inconsistencies:

* According to the brochure, all wheels are optional since no car has any standard wheels
* No sign of the double-glazed windscreen
* According to the brochure, you can only have multifunction wheel on the SE model (Sport, Sline and S3 are "-")

etc etc

This is in line with Audi UK, just complete lack of attention to details for a so-called "premium" brand.

Your obviously only looking at the options pages. If you look at the pages giving the details of each trim level you will see that the type of wheels that will be fitted as standard together with the fact that the SE will be fitted with a 4-spoke leather MFSW and the Sport and S-Line with be fitted with a 3-spoke leather MFSW, part-perforated in the case of the S-Line.

Perhaps the 'idiots' are those who are not bothering to read it properly rather than those who produced it. The document is not perfect but it's a lot better that you suggest.

I must admit, I've found Audi brochures to be almost deliberately confusing, perhaps to hoike you into a dealership in the attempt to get things clarified before they relieve you of some cash......

Steady on Dave, you posted the PDF file, you didn't make it.:blownose:

I just don't like people calling other people idiots when the fault is theirs and not the people who prepared the document in the first place. The information is there but some people are too lazy to read!

I don't see what's confusing about it. Standard equipment in one section, Optional equipment later on. Seems reasonable to me.

Would be nice to see more pictures of the exteriors though. Thanks for the offer of pictures Dave - would be helpful if you can do that.

or its hellishly confusing!

Personally I don't see how a page with SE model equipment at the top in large letters than then lists all the standard equipment supplied with the SE model can be confusing. There are then similar pages for the Sport that list all the standard equipment on the Sport and the same for the S-Line and then the S3.

Further on in the document their are pages which give the options available and indicate which model they are available on with a dash if the option is not available for that model and a bold S if they are standard on that model and the price of the option.

The brochure and price list for the A3 has been like this for years and personally I've never had a problem working out exactly what I need to order.

The pictures will give me a good excuse to visit a few dealer showrooms whilst I'm on holiday!! Often the salesman are as interested to see my RHD Audi as I am to see what they have in their showroom.

"Another one of those please" isn't hard though, David...:)

True but no two of my A3s have ever been the same. Different models, different engines, different options, different interiors. My next one will be different again, assuming I like the next A3 when it becomes available.

One thing they do all have in common though - they've all been Silver!!

Well went into the dealer today to add adaptive lights to my order and they do have this PDF file on their desktops. God knows why it isn't on the Audi site yet???

Then was told my build week was pushed back to week 37, I should have been driving round in the car then!!!

However phone call 1 hour later when the lights were added confirmed the build week to 34 so I'm happy again!

Just noticed too!

Cancel the bit above about I don't know why they dont have it on!

LOL!

It'll probably be another month before they manage to get it onto the configurator!

By the way JamS3, have you told us what your new spec is? Did you get an option on wheels? The reason I ask is that in the PDF there are only 2 options other than the standard, but on the 360 exterior viewer, they show another 3 or 4 options.

It's a bit weird as it's not like Audi to be inconsistent with their info :)

My new spec is (currently as I keep adding things!)

Sprint Blue
Black Interior
Piano Black Inserts
Bucket Seats (1st Aid Kit and Through Load system comes with this)
Flat Bottom Multi Function Steering Wheel (standard now)
Front Armrest (also standard now)
Flat Tyre Warning Indicator
Parking System Plus
BOSE
Cruise Control
Interior Light Package
Rain and Light Sensor Pack
IPOD Dock
Adaptive Lights

I'm retrofitting my RNS-E and bluetooth I currently have in my S3 as they are coming out when my car goes in to the dealer.

Sounds good JamS3!

Not far from what i'm thinking of going for.

What about the wheels? Were you given any options?

No options on wheels, didn't ask because I dont mind the new ones and they are exclusive to the S models so happy with them!

There is the 20-spoke design listed as an option for the S3 - page 33.

My main bug bear is that they don't make it clear what you can have with, and without each option i.e what options clash, even their website gets itself confused over this, along with the dealers, is it clear in the PDF? I must have read a different document.......
